Who thinks racism doesn’t exist?
Far different saying racism exists, and racism is still institutionalized from a government and societal level and is the cause of certain races being behind

I was about to say there is no way in hell there is still a public school that can segregate students based off race. The federal government literally ended that shite over 50 years ago. By the point of a gun. People will believe anything these days

Except high schools don't do that. How could you possibly adjust a GPA like that?
This one seems to have, from what I have read in this thread. Maybe there is an accepted way to do this, and you, the Washington Post, and the African American lady are just ignorant of it?
Anyway, they should just compare standardized test scores and give it to the highest scorer. That would be a fair playing field for everyone. Oh wait, those are racist too. Reality is so racist! Ugh!

I lived in North Mississippi in the late 90's at that time the public school still had a white homecoming queen and a black one, a white SGA pres and a black one, a white prom and a black one etc etc, no one seemed to have a problem with it, I could not believe it

This Dr. Jacquelyn C. Thigpen, racist superintendent of the Cleveland School District. She probably hides her white hood in her desk.

An African American woman filed a federal lawsuit against a recently desegregated Mississippi school district last week, claiming a white student was named salutatorian of their graduating class despite having a lower grade-point average.
The lawsuit comes weeks before a trial involving the same school district in which a black student alleges she was named “co-valedictorian” with a white student, even though the white student had a lower grade-point average.
This happens with college admissions but no one says anything because blacks are the beneficiary

So now you want to change who actually gets the valedictorian award?
Maybe we should just give everyone a trophy, huh? You snowflake!
We can give one for highest GPA, highest growth in GPA, highest overall test score, highest overall test score of everyone born in March, etc.
Or maybe just give it to the person with the highest GPA and be done with it.

I am, and have always been, 100 percent against affirmative action in any place, including college admissions.
Try again.
Don't let the 99 percent fake claims of racism, preclude you from seeing when real racism occurs.

So the white student has a higher GPA when accounting for honors and AP.
quote:
The lawsuit claims the honor of salutatorian — which traditionally goes to the graduate with the second-best grades — went to a white student whose score initially appeared to be lower than hers. Later, officials gave James a new grade script with a lower score, the lawsuit says.
You are constantly fricking retarded. It says nothing about AP or honors classes.

The superintendent of both schools is a black woman. Double intersectionality. I don’t see how dems can possibly argue against any decision she makes. Black AND female. Case closed

Blacks are accepted into every med school, law school, and graduate school across the country just due to the fact they are black. White and Asian kids with higher MCAT scores and GPA’s are passed up by blacks who score much lower all due to the color of their skin.
This racist crap happens 1000’s of times every year.
And it's wrong 1000's of times every year.
What does that have to do with the topic at hand?
