re: Reminder that while most racism calls are overblown, it does still exist

does anyone even question this?

Ehh
Pretty sure most people that argue against it are talking about "institutional" and "systemic" or even "systematic" racism.
Those are laughable concepts in America.
Person to person to racism exists....though probably not where most of its peddlers would care to admit.

I think we need a President with some balls. A President who will stand up for what's right and declare emancipation for American slaves, and push for an act to give all Americans civil rights.

Where did the article say that?

The lawsuit claims the honor of salutatorian — which traditionally goes to the graduate with the second-best grades — went to a white student whose score initially appeared to be lower than hers. Later, officials gave James a new grade script with a lower score, the lawsuit says.
Lmao. Get ready for this to blow up in the face of you and the race baiting OP.

Because their TRANSFER credits weren't weighted as high

I know of a Louisiana small town high school that, to this day, has had alternating black / white homecoming queens every year since the 60s if locals tell the legend right. I witnessed it for my own 4 years of HS personally.
Why you calling out my hometown bro?

Imagine filing a lawsuit over who came in second place in a Mississippi public school

I'm not from there but have friends who are and I was friends with them while we were in high school, so I got to see with my own eyes via local new papers every year. I was incredulous until presented with evidence year after year.

You're flip flopping the kids

You are really stupid.
Both kids transferred, in district, from old district high schools to the new district high school.
For what you are saying to be true, the new school would have to say that White School AP class deserves an extra point, while Black School AP class does not.
If that's true... the school district now has even more legal issues.
So, heads you are an idiot, and tails, the school district is racist.

Many schools have a rule that says if you don't attend all four years, you can't be eligible for valedictorian or salutatorian.
But here, no one has attended the school for all four years, because it hasn't been open for four years.

For shits and giggles let’s say kid A comes from an A or B rated school
Kid B comes from a C or D rated school.
Kid B has a high GPA bc kid B goes to a crappy school
When combined and adjusted to a A/B rating her GPA drops.
It would be like a kid taking online classes at DeVry and getting all As then transferring to LSU and becoming valedictorian.
I have no idea if that’s what happened, only what I can logically deduce based on limited facts.

Except high schools don't do that. How could you possibly adjust a GPA like that? A kid can be super smart in a bad school, and still be super smart in a great school.
And again... in this case, 1 the district has a recent history of racial issues, and 2 the school is new.

FYI, the "segregated" school system consisted of 2 schools. Cleveland High that had a 50/50 white/black enrollment, and East Side High that had 100% black enrollment. Students could choose which school to attend.
