We had a really strong summer cold front come through the first weekend in September in 2015. It made for an awesome Saturday in Starkville for LSU’s rescheduled opener.

Got down into the 50s if I recall. I'm just ready for it to quit raining now. Have had to squeeze in a grass cutting between floods all summer it seems.

It was close to that before the great flood but we don’t have accurate records from the era.

I’m just thankful that even with it being hot from April till now, it’s been wet. Consistent afternoon cloud cover and rain has helped to make it not so miserable.

I disagree. The heat sucks but is bearable. Rain every afternoon really puts a damper on getting some outside activities accomplished after work.

My daughter plays soccer, practice is MW 5-6:30. Since July 30, 17 scheduled practices. Between actual rain and the days where it just produces lightening, we've had 6, and 2 of those were shortened. It's discouraging to sit in the office all day with usually clear skies, and as soon as 4 pm hits, it all goes to hell

I’ll agree that August wasn’t THAT hot. Sun was bright but it was a little more dry with the humidity constantly around 60ish. September has been absolutely brutal. I’m a yard manager outside on my feet 6hrs a day and it’s tough when by 8am, I’m drenched in sweat with jeans and steel toes on. We’ve been drinking 50 cases of water per week since mid August. I keep saying next week, next week, but it just won’t happen and it fricking sucks. This is the warmest September I can remember in a while.

While not cool by any means at least the forecast shows mid 80s and low 60s around 10/4 & 10/5. I'm tired of this shite

It's basically been the August pattern all September. That doesn't look to change much in the next two weeks either. Maybe a little drier early next week but the cold front shown yesterday for next weekend has been dropped by all the computers.

Mid to upper 80s daytime and 70s at night for the next two weeks. Sigh.

This could actually be good for a bone chilling December/January pattern switch.
I’ll gladly give up fall for some upper teens and the possibility of snow.
Full stack of wood ready to burn!

If you look at last October, it was an absolute torch. Then 14 degrees in January.

Any science to back this up? Serious question.
