House was built in the early 70's and needs the windows updated. According to 104.9, Relief Windows should be my only call, but is there a better option? Also is there a certain brand of window to go with?

Depends what you want to spend. I buy Anderson for my house, but Pella is probably the best.

Just used Window World and they fricked up so bad on EVERY element of the install they are having to come back and redo all of them. Window install is not rocket science. It was really bad.

Window World is the walmart of windows. I have Andersen in my house now, and they freakin leak. They are going to be replaced with Pella on their own dime. Acadian windows seem to have a nice product, but they haven't been around as long. Relief windows are decent, but they seem to thrive on customer service rather than the actual quality of their windows.

Sunrise Windows are the most efficient windows you can get with a lot of options. Stay away from Window World.

Just be prepared, Relief Windows is $$$$$. Got a quote to replace my windows. Was expecting $6k and they came back around $10k.

I got quotes for replacement of all windows from relief and window world. Relief was about 6700, window world about 6100. Going with relief.

I went with Window World. $5k instead of Relief $6,300. No issues other than workers not doing a proper clean up.

I used Southern Home Improvement to do windows and new siding on my house. 12 windows replaced...no complaints at all. Very pleasant experience.

Don't use La Maison Complete. That place is a joke and the guy who runs it is a dick. No fricking lie. He was awful to deal with.

I appreciate all the recommendations, I can call around and get a few quotes and go from there. I just need a good product installed correctly, so nothing fancy.

I just signed contract with window world 3 days ago to replace 17 windows in an old rent house built in 1950. Total cost to remove and install and the cost of the windows is $3565. Not a bad price I think.

We had Window World replace 19 windows in our 1956 ranch. Wonderful job. As for the people complaining about the cleanup you need to be more specific. Replacing windows in an old house makes a lot of dust. Be prepared to sweep/mop the entire house about 5 times! That is NOT the installers job. As far as the quality of the windows I can say they are top notch. My sister has a custom greek revival on the bayou with Anderson windows. I can honestly say ours are better. We did all the windows for about $6K. It fit our style of home, our budget, and our needs.

Glass guru. A tad higher than some, but he was well versed about his product and spent a lot of time with us.

I used Southern Home Improvement as well. They did a great job. Had a seal break on one window and they honored the warranty without any issues.
