Still way better than OP's Reddit post.

What do you happens to blue collar wages once unemployed people start going into trades? Let me know

Bro if half this new generation would show just some half-arse effort, companies would be on their hands and knees begging for them. Nobody in the new age gives a shite about dress code, how they present themselves or the level of work they bring. Would I rather be on a beach than working? Sure, but I’d rather make sure I get a paycheck whenever I do decide to take a vacation

Gender studies doesn't pay. Who would have thought.
Oh yeah, everyone.
Oh yeah, everyone.

As I’ve already told you, this is noones fault but your own. If you hadn’t proven yourself a dumbass, I could’ve had you a job by the end of the week that starts at $70k and 4-5 weeks of PTO
I make 60k bozo and room for growth above that is minimal so I’m being proactive so I’m not stuck at that

Find a value add position in your industry. The one thing you’re right about is your position will likely be replaced and/or heavily augmented by AI, because you don’t do anything that takes critical thinking, you’re just processing.

So why are trashing me
I recognize the trends
Being proactive to develop a skill
The entry level at the new career pay more than mid level at my current career
I’m not blaming anyone and recognize the mistakes and am working to correct it

Because you’re full of shite.
You were the tool helper of your industry comparing it to top level of the industry you want to be in.

College isn’t educating kids on the right careers. Giving kids a 100k loan for a liberal arts degree in gender studies is absolutely criminal. We need to prioritize STEM.
Liberal arts degrees were far more popular with Boomers and Genx….

Going to college is great if you have a specific avenue you want to go for.
Architecture, law field, medical, sciences, finance, engineering, etc.
But when a person chooses the other 90% of stupid shite to go for, this is what happens.
The real problem is that its not reasonable to expect an 18 year old to know exactly what they want to do for the next 40 years. Most don't.
College really only morphed into a "job training" in the 70s and 80s, and quickly turned in the 90s back into what it originally was. A place to get a degree that increased your critical thinking, intelligence, etc. Often times that leads to a job and career skills. Not always.
The problem is the job market is ever changing. 15 years ago project management was hot. 10 years ago Coding was hot. Now look? Both fairly worthless out of college without experience.
If you don't know someone or have help, its pretty damn hard even at 22 or 24 to know how to take your degree and turn it into a good paying job that you also enjoy.
Unfortunately the reality for most is that finding a career you enjoy even with a good path, can often times be a real bitch.

Top level of my industry makes 300k I’m not shooting anywhere near that. I’m looking more around 85-120k.

Supervising idiots reinforcing residential/commercial concrete slabs could never be replaced with AI… my job is safe (I think, well I hope)

It’s real a simple plan for future job growth you must provide a need skill. Being a cog in a machine with the rise of tech are over.

but we shouldn’t ignore the fact that there are a ton of people going to college nowadays who really shouldn’t be.
Will be interesting to see as my kids grow, but my wife is one of those "everyone should go to college if they qualify" types. We have had various conversations, but nothing too in depth as the kids are barely in elementary school, about our kids & college. She is eager to want to push them to not only go to college but really wants them at LSU. I keep telling her that we will save the money for them to be able to go without loans, but I am not pushing college for them if the direction they want to go in life does not require a legitimate college degree.

Which is funny because I interview lightly experienced (think 2-4 years) and it's an absolute pain to get qualified applicants. We interview a lot of career younger individuals that want to make the jump to industry after 1.5-3 years, and our roles tend to be a tough transition.

The data behind the graph is what matters.
