that's actually incredibly considerate.

i'm sure it's just a note on "stop sending them food and then send this instead" as a piece of script, but still a very kind gesture from a large company.

sorry for your loss on the pet.

They didn’t have to code this. Also they send a personal written note sometimes so I’m pretty sure it’s a manual thing

How did they know you said goodbye to your pet?

That is a very nice and unexpected touch. I also am a customer of Chewy and have two 15 year old, nearly 16 year old dogs. How long have you been a member?

I am sorry for your loss. Dogs truly are your best friend. Seeing them go is always hard. When ready, I guarantee a new buddy will be waiting somewhere.

Chewy is a solid company

they went head to head against Amazon and won so that has to count for something.

They sent me one as well when my good boy crossed over the rainbow bridge. Good company.

I've heard from others that they do this. It's a great gesture.

That's a great gesture, but how did they know your pet died?

Guessing he probably had dog food or medicine set to automatic re-order every so often, then cancelled the subscription and gave the reason as being the pet died.

They also commission artists to send their customers small (6x6) portraits of their dogs randomly.

They also occasionally will send a painting of your pet, we got one 2 years ago of one of our cats with an order.

I would imagine it was probably an option when canceling the subscription as to the reason for cancellation.

That makes sense. I order a good bit of food and other things, but I don't have a subscription or any auto order set up.

When you cancel your subscription I believe they ask why. My parents put down our dog last year and received the same type of gift from Chewy. I can only assume that it's part of their cancellation process to include that option so they keep track of why people are cancelling.

I received auto delivery the day of or day after and called to see about return. They credited me the full purchase price and told me to donate it locally. Then the flowers with vase arrive via UPS a few days later. That's unheard of customer service nowadays. Impressive.

This post has made me consider using them. That is a stellar service to their customers.

Our vet sent us a handwritten card and flowers after we put our dog to sleep. Meant the world to us.
