Reminds me of a house my wife and I looked at in 05, seller was very strange and oddly unreasonable for someone selling an empty house, it is still empty and starting to deteriorate and at least 10 different realtors have staked down a sign.
He wanted us to remove the central air and other appliances and ship them to him because of some blah blah nonsense.
I told her then while laughing that the weirdo would never sell the place.

My guess is that the owners want a certain selling price come hell or high water.
Sort of a stupid thing to adhere to, considering they are losing money everyday it doesn't sell

Exactly. If you want to get a great deal on a house, you have to bring something else besides money obviously. If you aren't in a cash position to buy the house without selling the one you are in, then sell your house first.
Is your house even on the market yet?

There is no way I would ever take a contingent offer unless the other house is under contract. It could take you just as long to sell your house.

Hate to say it, but I don't blame the seller. I am a pretty simple guy....when I sell a house, I have no plans to spend months working on and generally playing grab as. I price the house fairly and the first buyer that comes along with the money gets the house.

There is a lot of people out just like people looking at what they have to sell but aren’t really interested in selling.
