You retiring soon?
Nah. Still loving what I am doing. My mandatory retirement is not until 2021 anyway. And I am waiting to see if I am promoted off the BG considered list (think OML). The current list is active until the end of March. Still have an outside chance.

8. I get my excitement from seeing my kids enjoyment when opening their gifts and playing with them all day.

Also reeling in compliments on my seafood gumbo all day long helps too.

8.

Only because I was able to see my family for one day. Drove from Dallas to Louisiana Friday night in pissing rain and got in at 11:30 and left at 6:00 am. Spent Christmas Eve and Day with SOs family. Flying to California tomorrow to visit her dad. It’s been busy.

Presents have been pretty good. SOs mom and stepdad spent as much money on me as my parents did.

Got a 1/5th of Hillhaven lodge whiskey pretty good stuff. Then the wife and i were able to announce a miracle! 30 years ago my great grandmother gave my parents a bottle of 1986 north coast pino noir. Nothing fancy .She past away the next month, my folks decided to not open that bottle until they became grandparents!
Long story short the wife and i never thought our family would expand. Over 8 years of trying / adoption waiting lists countless disappointment. well today we were able to announce We can uncork that bottle in 2018. Prayers answered when you least expect it!
So I’m gonna give today a 10! Merry Christmas to all!!

8. And it wasn’t as much about the gifts as it was my cousin’s kiddo (was born at 24 weeks, is about 6 months old) got to have his first Christmas after being released from the hospital this morning while being treated for RSV.

7. Spent some quality time with my Mom, older son and brother’s family in BR. Downside was my Mom is steadily going downhill at age 88 and I didn’t get to see my younger son who only had 2 days off and did Xmas in Houston.
