What does this mean

It means that either party can terminate the lease by giving the other party 30 days advance written notice. This is common when a lease converts to "month to month" after the initial term expires.

I would need to see the entire lease to be certain, but it sounds like that if you don't give 30 days notice, the lease will renew for another month and you will owe for the next month.

Without reading the whole lease, it sounds like either party can terminate the lease at any time with 30 days notice, I don't know how much notice you'd have to give if you wanted to go at the end of the lease term.
