I could be wrong, but nobody is actually in the portal yet (except for players of schools that entered earlier this season when coaches were fired prior to the window adjustments). Just announcements that they’re gonna Jan 2-16

Said Auburn is a place you should develop high school talent and keep them 3-4 years. Also said he’s gotta put a good product on the field next year and will use the portal to make sure he delivers next fall. Talked a lot about using the portal to bridge where they’re at now and where they want to be, both from immediate impact transfers but also some younger depth to make up for the HS class they just signed.
Talked about the 250/300 mile radius again as the priority, just because he thinks the best HS football in the country is in that radius. Also said they’ll recruit some positions nationally to get what they need.

I would’ve wanted a bowl game in this same scenario 5 years ago. I don’t now
Between seniors and transfers, this 5-7 team is mostly going to be gone by August, if not sooner. The current staff isn’t filled, and they’re not going to have a meaningful installation between now and whenever a shitty bowl game would be.
If they don’t know who sucks already they’re not going to be convinced by an extra few practices and lousy December game.

If someone wants to do it then I’d prefer that they’d do it versus me. If nobody else wants to, I’ll do it again. It’s not a big deal - just happy to pass this off to someone that’s willing to put some energy toward it

Sucks to be an Auburn football fan lately. There’s always hope we don’t go backwards when new coaches come in. At least there’s not much room to go backwards :lol:

Me personally, I'd rather Rivals/On3 and that's what I do.
