I'm a traitor. I signed an oath of loyalty to Her Majesty in 2000. I wish I had kept a copy of it.

So the Queen cant afford repairs at Buckingham? Would that be a government or public funded project?

Yeah. I traced my family back to Edward III (died in 1377). Through him, I've been able to find a direct link to the royal family of pretty much every European country.

'Sup cuz. I found my link to them via King John I. If I calculated it correctly, Liz is my 21st cousin, twice removed.

half the frickers on this board would be completely happy if Trump showed up to a presser with a velvet robe and sceptre and started entertaining pleas from commoners

Exactly. She's rich compared to me, but the real rich of Britain are said to laugh about how the royal family are really, really small potatoes so far as money goes.

The truly wealthy like gates and Buffet don't have a truly liquid wealth either. Monster portions of their wealth are not truly liquid, Gates can't just sell off billions it's illegal for one as there are limits but it would also cause a major issue with company stock.

Furthermore, as custodians or whatever you want to call the Queen she sole discretion and access to billions of property. That in itself is worth more than many billions could dream of.

Sure it's a different type of wealth I agree, but there's still plenty of billionaires that would prefer to be the queen. While there are also plenty of monarchs that would rather be privately wealthy.

Neither are living a bad lifestyle.

This whole bunch of crap is nothing but welfare for the aristocracy. What's gonna happen? Someone ever going to overthrow them now? Do away with it. It's absurd.

If you feel that strongly about it, move to the U.K., become a citizen, and campaign for it to become a republic.

The aristocracy is probably worth a couple billion dollars annually to the UK tourism economy

but sure, do away with it

He can definitely come up with a divestment plan to unwind his investments and become liquid, it may cause a huge drop in his net worth though and take a long time

The royals can't sell some of the royal estates that have to be retained in the crown's holdings

I have a friend whose family bought an expensive estate in London from them though. So they definitely have the ability to get rid of some but eventually they'll be left with truly illiquid assets

Yes, and he would be Charles III. The top five in line are:

1 Charles
2 William
3 George
4 Charlotte
5 Harry

Google says it's Sabrina Guinness.

And not only did she date Charles, but also Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, Michael Douglas, and Jack Nicholson.
