how do lesser humans get stickers? can you purchase a week's worth of auto insurance just to get the sticker?
counterfeit. Was in court the other day and a latino dude was in there for one. $100 fine.

I'm all for insurance checks, but when was the last time residents of Louisiana saw a decrease in their premiums because of inspection sticker checkpoint that lead to an insurance check?
Inspection stickers are just a money grab. Nothing more.

Because I assume Greyhound and CATS keep all of their buses in compliance with Louisiana law...

Meanwhile, right down the road, somone on the interstate is cooking it at 90 to 100 plus, bobbing and weaving through traffic like butter and never have I seen anyone pull them over.
Just wanted to add said car has blacked out windows and gushing exhaust. Not exaggerating, saw a car doing a hundred yesterday on I-12 with no license plate. WTF are State Troopers doing lately? People drive on the Interstate like it is Honduras.

I thought they were supposed to impound vehicles with no insurances?

I haven't gotten an inspection sticker in like 10 years.
my work car i keep for only 3 years. I go two years with the expired tag.
My trucks sticker is from 2011.
Haven't gotten a ticket for it, and i've been stopped for speeding twice in that time span, and once for running a red light.

I saw that dude earlier. I thought he might have a death wish. He was right in between lanes in the fricking road where the lane shift is on Bluebonnet with traffic barreling down on him.
I'm gonna go pass by him and wave with my shiny new inspection sticker.
Well, I didn't get him to inspect my sticker. They rolled out of the NATCO parking lot when I was about 200 yards away. Looks like they're protecting and serving the frick out of somewhere else now.

Why don’t they do this in NBR?

That's why I only buy real inspection stickers. Worth the $40.

can someone explain to me how taxing the middle-upper class in that area is a better use of resources than camping them out in NBR and bringing down the crime?
To the community as a whole, it's not. For the police department itself, it's a good use of their resources because it's a way to increase their revenue. Most people in the more affluent areas will pay their fines. Those in the poorer areas won't. The ONLY reason for inspection stickers in to generate revenue. It's harder to do that when the people you write tickets to don't pay. You go to where the "customers" are.

No.
Why?
Because it’s a racket.

Which is why you should carry uninsured motorist coverage.
And not sure why Charles Noto lets them park there.
