Yeah
"She doesn't look Hispanic..." is saying "she doesn't look like she'd speak Spanish," which is a silly thing to say about someone from Spain, which is a European country.
There are darker-skinned Spaniards because of the Mediterranean location and history ("al-Andalus," the Arab Mulsim occupation period from the 1st to 13th Centuries), but Americans have bizarrely come to conflate "Hispanic" with "Latino." There's a big difference... and Latinos get angry about that confusion (the Spaniards subjugated them... any kid who saw "Zorro" should remember that...)
And as somebody said, all European Royals are related... mostly German in origin (Habsburgs) but in that case of Spain at present, they're descendants of the House of Bourbon (French origin). When it comes time to marry off someone they usually look around in the extended family for a removed cousin by enough degrees to keep it all in the greater family. The Windsors (actually Bittenbergs... they adopted the name of the Castle to make themselves seem more native and English) of England stopped that practice with Prince Charles and look at the shitshow that resulted.

Oh and the Ancient inhabitants of "Spain" and the Iberian Penisula were a tribe that migrated over time from what is now Iran and were there for a long time, until invading tribes forced them to hop across the English Channel and settle on an Island called Ireland... so the Celts were the first civilization in Spain they've found evidence of, and they are originally Persian in origin.
All of this stuff is pretty fascinating.

I don't have time to read this whole thread, but has anybody mentioned rear admiral yet?
Congrats on publicly sharing that you’re thinking like a half-wit.

it was Sir Francis Drake ,, england had prepared for the invasion they knew it was coming
And one of the worst storms ever in the North Sea and off the English coast destroyed the armada pushing them into the Netherlands and around to Irlands west coast
The English defeated the Spanish with an assist from God

LOL where is Spain?
I had a buddy in high school with a Spanish surname. His great-grandparents immigrated from Spain… they could trace their line back to Old Castile. They were a typical white, middle class family. He got angry when his dad checked off “Hispanic” on the Census. His dad asked him why he was angry about that , because they Were Spanish, after all. He told his dad that people would think they were Mexican or something.

Spain used to be a powerhouse and a Naval force to be reckoned with.
Um, no. It had the largest navy a few different times in history, and every time it failed to produce results.
They had the largest armada assembled to invade Elizabethan England only to be beaten by better tactics and better cannon technology. You can also argue that poor navigation resulted in them taking one of the worst possible routes to retreat and ran head-first into storms that mopped them up.
They failed to stop pirates and privateers from pilfering their colonial wealth, it took the British Navy almost 200 years but they did it.
Then fast forward to the Napoleonic Wars and I believe the Spanish lost every major engagement they were ever involved in, both when they were aligned with and against the French.
The Spanish Navy has always been a paper tiger. These days it's more like a paper kitten. Maybe Morocco is concerned with the Spanish Navy, other than that I don’t think anyone is remotely concerned about them.

The princess's mom was a commoner. She was a pretty hot newscaster back in the day.

Imagine the Spanish Navy of old looking at what the Spanish Navy is today. The comparison is stark. Spain used to be a powerhouse and a Naval force to be reckoned with.
