just starting the second season of the crown. what a coincidence. never had any interest in the royals but the series is interesting on many fronts--political, personal, historical, monarchal

I think the Brits just got rid of this.

They did before George was born so however long ago that was. But I doubt they'll begin elevating the Queen's consort to King in the future.

But that will be a concern for another age. They're pretty set on kings for the next 100 years or so, if the monarchy survives that long.

My grandmother in law made it to 102 and after making it to 100, she said I’m good. I’ll be happy to die any time now.

Old bird lived on her own and was driving until she got sick on a Tuesday and died on Thursday. Drove herself to the hospital.

Right... and a king would have a queen consort as his wife

Correct. When William ascends the throne, Kate will be Queen Katherine.

Fun fact: There will never be a queen of Morocco. Only males can be monarchs and the kings wife is always referred to as princess

There will never be a king of Monaco either. It’s a principality and the monarch has the title of Prince not King, case in point is Prince Rainier and Prince Albert, who is the current sovereign.

You are correct. Not a drop of British blood in his or the Queen's veins.

Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother (mother of Elizabeth II) was the daughter of the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne. She was of Scottish and English ancestry, so the current Queen is of at least half British stock. Diana brought even more English bloodline into the Royal Family, as has Kate.

She will be Catherine, Queen Consort.

But here’s a question: Who thinks Charles will strong arm the establishment and have Camilla crowned as his Queen Consort. I don’t think this would be a popular move.

One wouldn't think that would be popular. Have the subjects grown to accept her? I really don't know.

I would think it best if Charles passes and lets William take over when the Queen passes away. I don't know if he can do that, though.
