Alot of the crowd in mandeville today is the rainbow haired, plus size, nose and lip piercing that usually live at the green room, and somehow bummed a ride to the lakefront from their seedy apartments in downtown covington. I'd say at most half of the crowd here live in mandeville

When you have a town as big and nice as Mandeville, you're eventually going to have these sub-communities of librarians, art teachers, service industry workers, gig workers, etc. to get this stuff started. It doesn't matter how conservative the town is.

Reading the St Tammany Farmer Facebook group, Mandeville throws this parade to show straight people that gays aren't afraid of them and to combat all the daily hate that gays receive from straight people.
