What was labeled a “slavery-themed” pre-wedding photoshoot has horrified people on social media after a TikTok user shared a video showcasing the photos.

quote:

The video shows an interracial couple – the woman appears white and the man Black – posing for photos in which the man role plays a slave and the woman role plays what appears to be a Southern belle look. They embrace in a field, then are seen embracing in front of a typical subdivision house. The man is now wearing a suit jacket and top hat.

I’ve seen better slave-themed photo shoots in the quad.

Why on earth do people get upset at what other people do with their wedding photos?

Seriously, since you are a part of it, walk me through how this makes someone angry

Why should they care?

Black guy, white girl do something they want to do, pearl clutchers start crying.

I could honestly see it as a part of social commentary on how far race relations have come

Going from chattel slavery to interracial marriages being the norm and for the most part accepted is a pretty big deal
