I was at the 4pm Mass today at St Theresa. Father Eric spoke of the allegations against him and said he was 100% innocent of the accusations. He was given a standing ovation before the dismissal. He is very well liked and I sincerely hope this matter clears up soon.

It's good to hear he has the support of many of his parishioners.

Like that one Bama fan who's daughter accused a football player of hitting her.

i just read the updated version of the article. Apparently this isn't the only priest she's accused of sexual misconduct. It says she moved away from her parents around the age of 10 and went to live elsewhere. according to her, another priest sexually abused her and there's now a case open against that priest. This seems...I don't know. But what are the odds? My gut says that she's messed up. Strange that this would happen in two different parts of the country to the same girl, around the same time. And the mother says she doesn't even recall it happening or being told about it. As a mother, I would NEVER forget my child telling me something of that magnitude, true or not.

He’s a priest in Gonzales and the accusations were in Brusly. Where does P-ville have to do with it?

I'm wondering who this was. If she was 10 I was 13-14 years old.

As I mentioned before I remember father Eric very clearly. He had thicker dark black hair back then. I also was an alter boy for a few masses while he was our priest in brusly.

Never did I feel uncomfortable by any means around him. Just thought this had to be reiterated because I don't want his reputation to be tarnished over something like this unless there was real hard evidence.

Easy money, and a wave of #metoo mentality. Every alleged victim has a right to be heard, but not every one of them has the right to be believed out right. Prove the case, then belief comes.

He was just getting her closer to God.

Advocate Article

quote:

Her father told The Advocate that he recalled her complaining long ago of inappropriate behavior on the part of her priest, but said she did not allege sex abuse at the time. He said he became aware of those allegations only recently, when he was contacted by a church investigator. He said he is skeptical that the allegations are true, but added: “I could be way the hell wrong.”
quote:

She later called back and told The Advocate that she and her daughter had seldom spoken in the last 18 years. She denied that her daughter had told her in 1996 of being abused by Gyan, but said that her daughter had begun "acting out" around that time. Nonetheless, the mother said she is skeptical of her daughter's claim of abuse.
quote:

She also noted that her daughter had recently filed a second complaint about sexual abuse by a Catholic pastor, this one stemming from an even earlier incident in another state.

Absolutely. I've seen him at many school/church functions in our 6 yrs there and everyone loves the man. He ain't no creepy kid diddler. No way that crazy bitch is remotely legit in her claim.

Everything the " victim" has said is fishy as hell. It seems she has enjoyed the benefits of living in Colorado a few too may times. 100% wacko.

At the 4pm Christmas vigil mass today, Father Eric talked of how this past two months was the darkest period of his life, but it has made his faith stronger. He didn’t say too much more, but he sounded 100% upbeat. When he is cleared, hopefully the news makes the headlines as fast as the negative news did.
