Catholics need to allow their priests to marry or they are going to keep diddling kids

Protestants allow their preachers to marry and they have a higher incidence of sexual misconduct lawsuits than Catholics according the their insurance carriers. As much as you hate Catholics, this is a very widespread problem for a lot of men and women in power positions over children, not a problem as simple as you suggest.

I never liked father Eric all that much, but that was Because of stylistic and theological differences. Not because I thought he was a pervert.

It’s a shame that people’s lives can be absolutely ruined by nothing more than an accusation.

If there is evidence and proof, let Heads roll, but not on simple hearsay.

This is categorically false. You have zero data to support this. If you meant to say it is much more popular to shame the Catholic Church by publizicing these acts I will agree with you. But you cannot show me any data proving the frequency of Catholic priests performing this behavior is occurring at a greater incidence than Protestant preachers. In fact, insurance companies that get sued (or end up having to pay) over these things have a confirmed the incidence is higher among Protestants.

Most logical people would realize that the real issue is that sick people have gravitated toward priesthood out of denial and the desire to hide who they are.

They seek positions that allow access to children.

It really doesn’t. She claimed she was walking down the street and saw a guy that looked like him and it jogged her “memory”.

somebody needs to hook her nipples to a set of industrial jumper cables and connect the other end to a marine battery.

she is obviously trying to cash in on the #metoo crap.

I'm surprised that doesn't make sense. Have you never seen someone that looked like someone from your past and it brought back a memory of them (good or bad) even though you hadn't thought of them or the memory for years? While I wouldn't say it happens to me often it does happen and usually, the memory that pops up is either a really good or really bad memory.

I am not suggesting this in support of the woman's veracity but I don't think a memory triggered by an object, person or situation is some odd occurrence.

Not all priests are pastors. The term pastor refers to the lead priest at an individual Catholic Church parish.

You can always call a Catholic priest a priest even if they are a pastor. They never go by the title pastor even if they are a pastor.

A lot of protestants, especially non-denominational clergy, prefer the title Pastor.

So it's like having a first name that you don't like and you have a nick name you want to be referred to all the time? Technically your name is.. whatever your real name is, but unless they want to get their arse whipped they better refer to you as your nick name?

Supposedly the victim was 10 years old at the time.

That said, after reading LINK it seems clear the now grown woman has some personal issues. And it's worth noting this is the only complaint about Gyan.

Yes, the parish must investigate but it's going to be pretty hard to establish much certainty about something that supposedly happened 21 years ago, especially if the accuser has no solid evidence.

Pastor is not so much a title in the Catholic Church but a position.

Think of it like doctors in a hospital. Your cardiologist might be the department head of cardiology but you are still going to call him Doctor Smith. You would never call him Department Head Smith.
