I can verify this has happened to me twice now. Both times, I got a late confirmation from Amazon that my package was delivered and was in my mailbox and both times, it was not delivered until the next day. However, I hold Amazon responsible for this and I've let them know it. The decision they made to allow the USPS to become a key part of their delivery service was going to inevitably end in disaster. Anyone with a functioning brain cell knows the USPS can't handle the volume of deliveries Amazon requires.

Wait, you swapped the original hair dryer at Walmart in exchange for a new one which you send back to Amazon. Unless I'm missing something, you have no hair dryer and the same amount of money you started with in this scheme of yours

Sorry, meant to post in the $400 hair dryer thread. That's probably why it's confusing.

Everyone is hating on USPS, and believe me, they deserve it, but if this shite is well known and Amazon continues to use them and charge their customers for it...

...shouldn't people really be blaming Amazon at this point?

No, the only way to avoid this until Amazon gets their own delivery fleet up and running is for Amazon to increase the yearly price of Prime and nobody wants that. I also think we have no clue the scope of this problem. You can only juke the stats so much, so they can't be too far off. If the delivery rate is 96% instead of 99%, that's still a very good rate of completion only disappointing a small handful of customers.

Absolutely, but in Amazon's defense, if you don't get your stuff on time they usually give you a free month of Prime. A lot of times they will also overnight a replacement if your original order gets "lost".

It's still mostly on Amazon, though, because they continue to sell a service that their providers (UPS, Fedex, USPS) can't deliver on. But it will be hard at this point for Amazon to change Prime for the worse, and either change it to 3-day shipping or increase the price significantly.

Whenever my tracking shows "Delivered in/at mailbox", I know it is actually coming the next day. Annoying as hell

Having actually worked for the post office, I have never heard of this happening and I working in a major city. Not saying that it doesn't happen, but I have never heard of anyone doing this or being told to do this. In fact, they usually got up our butts when any package wasn't scanned where it was being delivered and also when it was being delivered. Not saying this doesn't happen, but I never heard of anything like this at all.

F USPS. I'm waiting on a package.. yesterday it couldn't be delivered because of "NO ACCESS" which is total bullshite. I was home at the time they claim and at no point was my mailbox blocked or whatever that excuse means. Today they tell me it has to be picked up at the post office.

Odd seeing this today. A co worker mailed me a check for the boss' Christmas gift. He asked if I received it yet, USPS shows it was delivered yesterday. I have never had issues with items missing. Thanks for sharing.

USPS delivered one package on the complete opposite side of town and marked it as delivered. I got the notification at about lunch time and was home and waiting for the package in order to mount a TV. Six hours later, the person whose house it was delivered to brought it to my house, basically saying the lady just put a bunch of packages in their driveway and drove off.

Yeah I'll never understand how citizens want the same government that controls the USPS, Amtrak, and the VA to run healthcare and other facets of life. Mind boggling.

And I'll never understand how the type of people who say things like this are also totally fine with said government carrying out executions of its own citizens

This is same concept as drive thru windows asking you to pull up even when there is no one behind you. They can claim they got you through the window in less than a minute, even though you sat pulled up 10' for 10 minutes. All so they can report acceptable numbers without actually fixing anything.

So again, the real problem is the fat cats sitting at the top of this pyramid scheme who are threatening the lower down guys to match the quota. The peons at the bottom has figured out a way to make the boss happy without working themselves to death. It is all about them increased profits for the fat cats.
