The governor should drag the judge who let this shitstain off easy before a televised inquiry and force them to answer for this.

These fricking judges are too insulated from public shame and ridicule.

When will it end?

The time and place for this mentality has passed. Sorry. They had their chance. You want to present yourself as a thug, you should suffer the consequences. It should be near impossible for these guys to even step foot out of their home without law enforcement harassing them.

See, I agree with you. Knowing Sid, that’s not what he was aiming at. It was far more generalized of a statement than that situation.

Again, knowing what was coming from the governor, this is classic good cop bad cop Sid himself said a version of the same exact thing earlier in his talk. We need to sit back and judge all of this on what actually happens not get wrapped up in every little thing or everyone’s demeanor in a press conference.

I’m 100% in favor of busting every head possible in the parish and shutting this shite down

Landry needs to go on the offensive here and get the legislature to pass a new law to update the minimum sentence for possession of a stolen firearm to a minimum of 4 years. We may have to build new prisons, but we will quickly take crime off the streets

The left says we have a prison problem. I agree. We don't have enough of them.

In the west people work their asses off to get taxed to hell to pay for a completely useless class of people that are prone to completely senseless violence and murder.

The number of criminals on welfare...we are feeding criminals to violently ruin our society.
as LBJ said himself he would have the dependent class voting democrat for 100 years.

Do you realize how big of a segment of our society agrees with those judges and DA's and feel it is not the fault of the criminal..... but the fault of society.

This is the exact thinking that has paralyzed us in enforcing the law and led us to accept lawlessness. We are so worried we may hurt someone’s feelings that we can’t address anything honestly or do anything about it. Whether it’s addressing homelessness, crazy people (like trannies), illegal aliens, radical Muslims, or welfare recipients, we become so scared to hurt their feelings that we don’t correct any problem.
Tough shite if they get stereotyped.
White people, especially white males, are stereotyped every single day in the most insulting ways possible. Yet we continue on going to work, raising our families, and paying taxes. We survive with no help or care from anyone. These youths can do the same.

Baton Rouge is a very racist town, but not the way most think it is. The hate for whitey is strong with NBR leaders.

Truthfully he’s not wrong - tons of kids out there would never do something like this but will be branded as such based on appearance or where they live. Given Sid’s background it’s not surprising he says this and is the responsible thing to say - knowing what’s coming up next in the speeches and what he said himself 2-3 min before.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, smells like a duck……

OneSaintsFan says don’t you dare call it a duck. It’s a bunny!

That’s not what I said at all. My point is do you expect someone who has worked with these kids his whole career to not have that perspective?

I also said in multiple post I was 100% on board with what Gov said and what Sid said before that statement about drawing a line in the sand and arresting everyone - everyone is nitpicking his last statement but I think two things can be true here

I know there are some that do. But I think they are the loud obnoxious vocal minority.

Look at the last election, a ton of the silent majority voted for Trump. Quietly casting a vote and staying invisible.

The extreme segment of both sides skews our perception of what “most people” think.

Absolutely this is the type of stuff that needs to happen. I’m as pro gun as anybody, but I wasn’t wild about getting rid of concealed carry because a lot of times that would give some probable cause to dig into some of this.

for about the millionth time, land doesn’t vote. People vote. If the US population were distributed equally across every acre of land that map would absolutely make your point, but it isn’t

50/50 is the rough split and it has been for a long time. I agree with you and everyone else that the only solution is to stop pussyfooting around hurting feelings, name the problem and address the problem…specifically and intentionally and break whatever eggs need to be broken to solve the problem

The problem is young black male criminality, period and full stop. Why that is the problem is myriad but unless and until we say the words and take offensive action nothing will change

This is perhaps the truest statement on this thread. I have heard this from a teacher/coach there and 2 families with kids there.

And apparently north BR doesn’t want violent gang members locked up.
