Portland small business owner closes for good, begs voters to do better

Elections have consequences. Rational and intelligent people understand this. The problem for Portland, and a good deal of this country, is they’re full of leftists and leftists are neither rational or intelligent.

Let the woke city self-destruct.

sadly, that same letter can be taped on the front door of every small business or restaurant in America that has been the target of criminal behavior. Thugs know the local DA's are soft, police departments are understaffed, and they can get away with robbery, car jackings, and murder.

I obviously agree with this, but there is more to it than that these days. Up until fairly recently, even leftist (or what would be considered "woke" in the past) governments and elected officials were still relatively rational human beings. Between Trump (because people were so mad) and Covid (because government overreach got out of control), politics got sort of turned on its head and how you have people (mostly on the left IMO) who are no longer rational.

For example, I think Democrats would historically support prison or criminal "reform." But now that has morphed into criminals literally getting away with basically whatever they want to do with little to no repercussions. And a lot of that has really ramped up in the last couple of years (since Covid essentially ruined the country). So voting blue before all of this at least made SOME sense to some people. But now, moving forward, the people that still choose to vote blue are only asking for trouble IMO. So the next voting cycles will show the true colors of people who claim to be rational yet still vote for anarchy.
