Fox News headline article today morning is about Portland and it’s rising homelessness issues.

Holy crap, are all the liberal cities going to turn into San Francisco? Sad to see another beautiful city bite the dust.

Dana Highfill, owner of Float North, a flotation therapy center in northeast Portland, told Fox News her store has been vandalized in the past year. There have also been multiple occasions where she's had to clean up human feces and pick up dirty needles. Like Kirby, Highfill says the situation is getting worse and hurting sales.

This really isn't a new problem for Portland, they have kinda been the homeless capital of the US West for awhile now.

I'm going to open up a helicopter tour business in Portland. Discounted, perhaps even free, services to antifa and socialists. Just helping out my comrades.

Wait.....you're telling me that their token program did not work?
Portland had this currency system that people could give the homeless tokens that could be exchanged at certain locations for food, showers, clothes, etc. Shockingly, the homeless seem to care very little about survival needs.

Maybe it worked too good?

True story. Two years ago my family flew in to Portland as the jump off spot for a 12 day road trip down the Pacific coast. We stayed in Portland for two nights and it was eye opening to see what years of *progressive* leadership can do to a city. We were driving through a busy gentrified neighborhood that was full of restaurants and a woman that was obviously on drugs had her pants around her ankles and was taking a dump behind a planter right in front of the plate glass window of a packed restaurant. She was wedged between the planter and the window just blowing mud in front of a restaurant full of people.
Anyway, frick Portland. What a waste of 2 days of our trip. The only thing worthwhile was the Japanese gardens.
Things I learned on that trip:
1. Portland sucks balls and is a filthy shithole filled with crazies and drug addicts
2. The Redwood Forest is magical and awesome
3. San Francisco- while being the only city I would consider living in out there- is getting pretty funky too. There is a corner pub restaurant in Haight-Ashbury that has outside seating and had a few beers there. Was kinda awesome.
4. Between San Francisco and LA there is a stretch of 100 miles of pistachios. Seems kinda crazy that they are $7 a pound when it literally takes 2 hours to drive through the pistachio fields
5. I lived in LA in the mid 90s and hated everything about it. Had that dislike validated.
6. Phoenix is poop. Really hot poop.

Not really. But It could get there. It's pretty easy to avoid the craziness if you want to...

Wait, didn't Sharon Weston Broome propose this earlier this month? Is BR seriously trying to copy the Portland model for dealing with homeless?

She sure did.
The only way to get rid of homeless us to stop giving them money. It's not complicated.

I think in this case, San Francisco is turning into Portland.
That said, I enjoyed Portland, no shortage of great food and beer and surrounded by beautiful scenery.
