Which will certainly help with those product shortages and price increases we've seen.

Bloomberg

quote:

The head of the organization representing companies in labor relations at the U.S.’s largest ports is worried that the federal vaccine mandate set to take effect in January could worsen the current supply-chain crisis.

James McKenna, president of the Pacific Maritime Association, which negotiates labor agreements for 70 companies at 29 West Coast ports, said he’s concerned that some workers who aren’t vaccinated won’t report for duty if there’s a mandate in place. McKenna estimates 30% to 40% of local dockworkers aren’t vaccinated.

“Probably the worst thing that could happen to us is to have less bodies available to man these terminals,” McKenna said in an interview.

The Biden administration announced last week that all employees at companies with more than 100 workers must get Covid-19 vaccinations by Jan. 4 or get tested weekly. Companies that don’t enforce the rule could face a fine of as much as $13,653 for each serious violation. The mandate, however, has been on hold since Friday, when a federal appeals court in New Orleans temporarily halted its implementation.

I read it as "PORN industry...", which would have made for a much more interesting thread.

They were also reportedly surprised at the inflation stats last week.

The only way it makes things worse is if the workers make a dumb choice.

Me thinks this guy is part of the problem, anyway.

Or they could simply not mandate it.

That seems to be an even easier route.

That would probably be the easiest route of all.

You can think it is dumb all you want, but what the frick are people like you going to do when people stick to these "dumb" decisions and you can't eat because of it?

You don't say, I am shocked that the mandate reducing manpower would have an effect on the already strained supply chain, shocked I tell ya.

I agree, as a white liberal I am getting tired of these Trumpty Dumpties making fun of MY party!!! Since my team won we’ve had a flawless Afghanistan withdrawal, Covid has ended WITHOUT us having to force mandates on vaccinations, racism has become nil, gas is much cheaper, and food is much much cheaper. MY leader speaks with authority and has a clear message!!! All we need is more compliance and we will be where we need to be!!!!

Yeah. The citizens are the problem here.

Not the authoritarian government that forces their employer's hand.

If people would just go run out and get the vaccine they could not only save lives, but bring the economy back roaring as well. Why do they have to be so damn greedy?
