Assuming his username means he’s in Texas, their state unemployment maximum is much higher than ours. If they get the max $521+$600 stimulus, that would hypothetically multiply out to a little over $58k. Still not exactly high earning, but I could see how that’s more than an RN would make.

I do agree with you though. A lot of people here in Louisiana (where our max state is $247) have been talking about people on unemployment making more than them, and I’ve been surprised by some of them. People who have been in their careers for 10 years saying this who have what I thought were decent level jobs. I didn’t realize some of these folks were paid so low for the level of work they seem to do.

In Alabama you can because I turned down a few jobs while drawing unemployment in 2009 and was never denied my claim. There's pretty much no oversight of it here.

It’s happening all over DFW and Austin every day. Austin is consistently one of the fastest if not the fastest growing cities in the US every year, and most of the growth is from tech industry jobs. Meaning high 6 figure jobs moving from expensive arse Bay Area to comparatively cheap Texas. I live on a street of 1-2 acre lots and most have been bought by investors, grazed, and rebuilt as townhomes/duplexes. You can see these type places all over the city.

The idea that Orlando is alone in this is incredibly naive.
