This is kind of like saying every time I get in a car I drive 120 mph down the highway and the rehab after all the wrecks are starting to weigh on me. I think I will quit driving it’s just not worth it.

Or………………you could just slow your arse down.

I’m in the pre-contemplation stage too. My problem is that I absolutely love the way beer taste. I have done a better job of not buying whiskey anymore which has helped tremendously. But the beer is gonna be really hard to stop.

Quitter?

If you stop eating carbs are you a quitter?
You don’t owe Alcohol any allegiance. It’s not a team. It’s not something that demands you take part in it.

So you don’t want to drink alcohol anymore. Kudos. You have your reasons. You do whats best for you.

If your buddy likes to have a few after work or at a tailgate, that’s no demand on you. Neither is right or wrong.

Life your life, make your choices and peace upon your journey. Don’t feel
Like you need to justify your choices to yourself or anyone else

Probably drinking the wrong stuff. I drink a lot more than I should. Five or six drinks a day and maybe more on the weekends. I can not tell you the last time I have had a hangover. Has to be at least 20 years ago.

I quit drinking a year ago this month.
No ragerts
I still have an occasional (every few months), but no more than 1 mixed drink.

I’ve got a stopping problem. Once I start, I don’t stop until I go to bed. I’d rather not drink at all than just have 2 beers.

Because of that, I rarely drink at all anymore.

Just do what I did. Eliminate liquor and only drink beer. Only drink on days where you don't have to get up for anything the next day. Eliminate all other non alcoholic drinks except milk, juices, and water.

This is what made me fall off the wagon. I started drinking a few beers on the weekend. Took about a month for me to be back to drinking a few every evening

Get on a workout routine and you won’t drink as much.

Add water between drinks and set a limit for yourself.

I'm sitting here, drinking my third double gin and tonic of the day (I live above a bar), casually doing toots of blow and watching football. I felt like absolute shite until I got the first one in me.

I need to slow down or stop, but being in a drinking down makes it pretty damn hard. Might leave for the winter and at least make an effort to put on the brakes.
