You left out the part about the illegal tint on the windshield.

He was picked out for the tinted windshield is my guess. With the right attitude he may have gotten out of that, being that he was following his mom. Couldve joked with the officer about it.

We are so fricked. Most here are agreeing with the kid
This isn't new, shite your insurance rates are higher because you drive a sports car, but they are also even higher compared to other sports cars because it's bright damn blue.
Sure he was keeping pace with traffic, does that mean he wasn't doing something illegal because everyone else was doing it?
He was also singled out because of the tinted windshield and loud exhaust as he passed the officer.
Cops being a dick isn't something new and doesn't change the fact the little shite was doing 20 over the speed limit in a bright blue sports car, with illegally tinted windows.
If it was some culture in a charger y'all would be jerking each other off.

Just watch the first 60 seconds of this video and you'll see what a spoiled brat this teenager is. When did America become like this?
There are thousands of these kinds of videos out there. Its pretty alarming how entitled 18 year old kids are today. Shitty parents.

Probably right. Just like that Texas kid who killed a few people years ago driving drunk and basically got off with a slap on the wrist due to his lawyer offering up the now famous "Affluenza" defense.
I remember his mom and dad being 2 very entitled type people due to their wealth-----especially the mom who was on another level all-together.

all three of my kids are expected to have part time jobs while in high school. Not for the money aspect obviously, but for the 'learn the value of a dollar, work with the public (
) and learn some basic life skills of interacting with other ppl' part.
I think giving kids everything, and without any buy in on their part is a huge mistake many parents are making with their kids these days.
Seems like this kid has likely had most things handed to him, and has not been allowed to experience any consequences.
my son, when he recovers enough from his ACL injury/surgery and finally gets his DL, he will be driving his oldest sister's beat up honda civic until he can prove that he is responsible for something nicer and has some $$$ to put down on it as well.

The cop went into the situation with a bad attitude also. Almost immediately he's threatening to put his hands on the kid. He did what most cops do, escalate the situation. Because most cops, especially the traffic cop variety, have a chip on their shoulder and a bully complex.

Note that that excuse and about $1.50 will get you a fountain drink at Buc-ees -- and doing 55 in a 35mph work zone with workers present, will give you a chance to find that out for yourself.

I would suggest it's exact opposite of what you say. They need to go back to old parenting styles where core values and setting up your house to reflect those values is what is needed. If they had treated this 19-year-old as a subordinate in the house, he would understand that life is not all about him. They are his parents, not his friend. None of his friends will act in the parental role, therefore parents don't need to act in the friend role.

Ya'll realize that's produced right..
Is the cop wearing a microphone, and always has a camera man with him.
But yeah, don't raise your kids that way.

Another video of the same guy played right behind it so I'm guessing he has a YouTube channel and does this regularly. Makes sense for the department, shows the good side of cops and what they go through.

The kid in the next segment that was also 19 is crying about doing 40mph over the speed limit on the highway because he can’t think straight because he’s selling speakers at home and helping his sister with her car
Kids are so goddamn stupid and weak these days. How is that an excuse he came up with? He’s legit stressed to death over selling speakers and helping a family member. Society is fricked beyond belief. Zoomers are weak as shite and I’m only 30 myself.

This is actually the problem.
Gen X parents believe that their parents were too hard on them and now they raise kids as "friends" and not as children.
They teach them that they don't have to be responsible for their actions and defend them even when they're wrong, just like this mother did.
I'm Gen X and see pretty much all my friends doing the same damn thing.
ETA: I see a lot of Gen X parents are commenting here.
By reading those comments, I reiterate, you are the problem....

That’s a long term-too soft and spoiled parenting situation.

There is a reason that adolescence now lasts to the age of 24 and too many teenagers (18+) walking around today are as socially, intellectually and morally developed as there parents may have been as a pre-teen.
This is a good post. I know some good, hard working, god fearing people that have raised little spoiled brats. They really didnt mean to do it and they feel bad about it.
What happened? Probably what you said. They gave their kids the same parameters they had growing up. Except kids today live in a completely different world. At least 50% of it is when these kids do all the stuff you're supposed to do to have free time (homework, chores) what do they do? They get in front of a screen and they poison their mind with social media, online shopping, dopamine dumping video games, pornography, and the false feeling that they're engaging in human interaction. Its a damn shame.
