If that was my kid he would have no car after this incident. He would not be allowed to go anywhere except school and church. He would have a chore list at home and no access to phone or social media. No computer use except for educational purposes. No video games.

Kid has that attitude because of his parents.

I don’t see the reason why the cop would pull the kid over. Seems like he picked him because it’s a blue Mustang. He wasn’t going faster than anyone else on the road. Kid was right, cop was acting like a bitch.

With a tinted windshield. Cop was actually pretty fair, but the guy's attitude didn't help. I can't believe anyone would defend this POS. The cop probably just gives him a warning if he had acted more mature. Keep in mind it sounded like he wasn't even suppose to be driving due to some sort of criminal violation.

These interactions can go so much smoother, but people like you would rather whine about it.

I use to drive a sports car at his age and would get randomly pulled over, because of it. I wasn't even speeding or committing any traffic violations. I didn't behave this way and they didn't even offer a reason as to why I was pulled over. They even asked to search my vehicle which doesn't bother me. It got me out of the situation much quicker than fighting it. I get others who rather fight for their privacy or whatever, but I rather make the interaction go as smooth as possible.

Sometimes pulling people over like this leads to finding serious criminals. I've seen kidnappers and rapist get caught like this. If he explained his situation then he probably doesn't even get a ticket. However, he was still breaking other laws.

Kids are so goddamn stupid and weak these days. How is that an excuse he came up with? He’s legit stressed to death over selling speakers and helping a family member. Society is fricked beyond belief. Zoomers are weak as shite and I’m only 30 myself.

Friend of mine got pulled over for doing 90 on the interstate. Cop looks at his license and says, "Mr. D, is there some reason you were doing 90? My friend replies, "Yeah, I'm dumbass."

They both start laughing. The cop tells him to slow his dumb arse down and lets him go with a warning.

teens today requires a different style than how most parents were raised themselves. It doesn't mean the way they were raised is wrong but the influences and culture today requires a shift in parenting style and if that shift doesnt occur, occur than society raises the child, not the parent.

There is a reason that adolescence now lasts to the age of 24 and too many teenagers (18+) walking around today are as socially, intellectually and morally developed as there parents may have been as a pre-teen.

I am old and an old school guy but this is very accurate.

I will respectfully disagree. The reason we have arrived at the point we are at is that we have allowed "society" to direct development of people and "society" is headed to garbage right now.

Look up the definition of "society". The primary definition points toward a positive progression. The society that is developing now is no where near "positive".

I don't know you, know anything about you, really haven't even noticed how you post on here. But if you are really willing to do this

Then I don't think he would be your kid.

It is so easy to sit back after the fact as many posters here are doing and say I would do this, and I would do that, but if those things had been done when the child was young and consistently then I don't think a parent would find himself in this situation.

Kudos to you if you raised or will raising your child in this manner.

Some folks act like this is a new problem.

It isn't.

This entitlement problem has been with us since ancient Sumer .

Our Constitution does not allow for royal titles but folks here still try to create an aristocracy , just look to Trailer Swift ,Bouncie ,and that girl from Kentwood.

Folks always looking for someone to worship in place of God.

The cop woulda had a real problem if I woulda been there.

Deciding to arrest me or my son after I knocked my offspring out flat on the pavement coulda been a real conundrum for the officer.

There are about 20 kids in my daughters high school class that are like this. The parents are a-hole so the kids are assholes too.

fortunately my son has a group of young men in his circle that I can’t see any of them acting like this.

A couple of the young ladies, it may be possible

Humans haven't changed, society has. As parents, you have control over whether you raise your children under your standards and expectations, or you let pop culture do it for you. You choose whether you are their parents or you are their friends.

It's pretty easy to see how this little pissant's parents chose to raise him.

if any of my three are pulled over by the police they will be in a heap of nervous tears

They don’t even like parent teacher conferences

They are waiting by the door when we get home from them.

I used to work in the prison system. I saw what happens when kids are not raised right. I took a job in residential treatment for at risk, mentally ill teenagers. I have raised thousands of other people's kids over the course of a 30 year career. You have to be fair, firm, consistent, and patient. It is not easy by any means but kids can learn to be hard working, respectful, and accountable. The kid we saw in the video has not learned these things and his parents have done him a disservice.

I strongly believe that raising adolescents and teens today requires a different style than how most parents were raised themselves.

I raised my children old school and they are head and shoulders over their peers. I whipped them. I held thrm accountable. I restricted what they watched and listened to. My wife home schooled them. We have them in church. And most importantly, we demonstrated the behaviors we wanted them to have.

This "Kids these days" narrative is crap. The issue is lazy self indulgent ego driven parenting. If you raise your kid that no one can tell baby he's wrong, this is what you get.

It takes discipline and goals and a lot of quick thinking to raise good kids. Dumping them in daycare and putting it on cruise control doesn't get it done.
