Deep Thoughts With Jack Handey: "I bet the main reason the police keep people away from a plane crash is they don't want anybody walking in and lying down in the crash stuff, then, when somebody comes up, act like they just woke up and go, 'What was THAT?!'"

That didn't work. Maybe try something that might.

Or asking everyone to STFU so we can die in peace.

I've been in a couple of situations where I thought death was imminent. This is how it felt. 1. No fear. I would characterize it as eerily calm. 2. Time slowed way down. 30 seconds seemed like a lifetime. 3. I wasn't exactly outside my body, but it felt like I was watching it happen to someone who wasn't me.

What were the circumstances? War? Car crash? If you don't mind sharing.

I knew a WWII vet who described the exact same thing when a kamakazie slammed into his ship. He said everything occurred in slow motion. He ended up with a Purple Heart from the ordeal. I guess it’s just the brain processing things. Fascinating stuff really.

As for me, I’ll be thinking about you baws.

I can see none of you ever flew into Tampa during thunderstorm season. Line being on a roller coaster.

An equal is Frontier Airlines, Denver to Cheyenne after the fields have been plowed. Bump, bump. Bump….

It was truly gut wrenching to find out that a family with young kids, similar in age to mine, were on that plane. News of others that are in no way known to me typically has little to no affect. This one was different.

I would like to think -hope- that I would do my best to make sure my kids were calm, happy, and completely unaware of what was about to happen. Hold them tight, tickle, laugh. Whatever it would take for their last moment to be a joyous family moment

the fact that I was in a plane crash would just be further proof that God doesn’t exist.

That makes zero sense, even for an atheist.

Very sadly, I doubt that happened here. The adults knew what was about to happen for at least a minute, and in a nose down dive I'm sure everyone was scrambling.

I hope they were all buckled in, since they were experiencing turbulence. It would have been easier to be together in the last moments at least briefly.
