Near my house.

Every morning on my way to Belaire High School I would stop in and get a honey bun for breakfast that was as big as my head for 35 cents. 35 frickING CENTS.

Also had, hands down, the best poboys EVER.

I remember when New Generation was the only place in town to rent movies. It was a big treat to go there and look at them all.

My parents paid like $80 bucks for their first VHS movie and the damn VCR was a roughly 70 lb Magnavox.

I threw it away a few years ago...damn thing still worked. I regret it.

New Generation was the shite though. The whole town has shifted away from that area and it's sad.

That whole stretch of Florida Blvd toward Denham Springs has pretty much become a dump. It saddens me as well. It was my old stomping grounds.

Tony's Donuts.

My first job was washing dishes at Tony's Donut Shop, between that and my brother dating one of the daughters, I must of gained 20 pounds between the donuts and rest of the food.

They did have some good food.

I can remember the smell of the place. Reminds me of stuff I couldn't afford at the time.

I saw my first CD there. . .it was like $75. I was like, WTF? My cassette of the Miami Vice soundtrack sounds great!
