Had to get a Neulasta shot to boost my white blood cell count after my recent round of chemo. One Walgreens pharmacy in all of New Orleans & the Northshore had it at the time, none of the WalMart pharmacies.

Frankly, I think this is a load of bullshite. I’m on a pretty good bit of meds, and I have recently refilled them all without issue. In fact, supply chain issues in general, seem to be freeing up nicely. Hell, I even saw a fully stocked aisle of toilet paper in the grocery store this morning.

Denial is an important part of grief. You will be in depression stage soon when you realize this is not made up. And then hopefully acceptance that Biden’s incompetence in getting shipping/supply under control is a real problem for this country.

This never would have happened with Trump in charge. This wouldn’t have even happened with Obama or Bush.

Big Pharma subbed out all the manufacturing to China

What the FDA does track, again, is manufacturing facilities that export drugs to America. In that October report, when the agency took its most recent statistical snapshot of the United States' pharmaceutical supply chains, here's what it found:

They should be required to manufacture pharmaceuticals in the US. This situation is why.

It's good for you that you've not personally suffered any supply problems, but it's not imaginary and does exit. Aside from problems obtaining medicines from retail pharmacies, hospital pharmacies experience supply issues as well. I have a friend who's a hospital pharmacist and he been telling me >5 years of intermittent availability of medicines, usually for many months. Some of the missing meds are simple, but important drugs (for example intravenous glucose and drugs used during a "code") while some are more out of the ordinary (for example, cancer treatment drugs). Just recently there were no supplies nationwide of a popular drug used in alcohol and drug detox for many months.

When shite really hits the fan and society goes off the tails for 6+ months…a cache of ammo, canned goods, gold, and antibiotics are what you want to have in your home.

been almost 2 years. What do you want to bet we haven’t even started?

Trump talked about it. I thought he was crazy enough to try. So I had brief hope. But nothing. And now since it was a Trump idea it won’t get done now.

If true, MANY will suffer! Maybe some of your friends or loved ones.

We, as a society have become too dependent on the status quo.

There may be some "pain" for all of us here.

ETA; I heard or read, at somewhere, that on average, Americans consume 5 prescription meds daily.

The rehabs were out of Librium? That would be quite a circus.

Yes, supplies have been limited over the past year. I could always find some, but I did not always have my choice in brands or the quantity that I wanted.

Along with many others. There are many different medications, that warn against sudden discontinuance.
