Even if it isnt true or statistically significant i expect we'll see a lot of this in the next few months.

Also since this is the OT... 1, 3, 2

It actually is

LINK

but

quote:

"The normal incidence of Bell's palsy is roughly 20 people out of 100,000. The Pfizer study examined 38,000 patients, so four cases would be within the normal observed incidence of Bell's palsy."

FDA Briefing Document

quote:

Among non-serious unsolicited adverse events, there was a numerical imbalance of four cases of Bell’s palsy in the vaccine group compared with no cases in the placebo group, though the four cases in the vaccine group do not represent a frequency above that expected in the general population.

Does raise some eyebrows, at least on one side of your face.

So why again should I take a vaccine for a disease that wouldn’t likely affect me and risk getting Bell’s palsy at all?

People are being criticized by many for saying they won’t take a rushed vaccine, too.

While they don't really know what causes Bells Palsy, several common viruses have been linked to triggering it. The flu, respiratory illnesses, measles, mumps, hand foot and mouth, mono, chicken pox/shingles, etc. Knowing that, it sounds pretty par for the course that a handful of cases would show up in a largely distributed vaccine group.

You’re basically more likely to get bells from the vaccine than you would be to die from the virus.

Are you retarded

The percentage of vaccine recipients that got BP is the same as in the general population

Also of note, covid-19 can cause BP as its a virus that causes inflammation

Only problem with that is the normal incidence stats are annualized stats. That is, if you take 100,000 people, over the course of a year approx 20 are likely to develop Bells Palsy. I’m not sure when the first human trials started for the Pfizer vaccine, but it’s certainly not a year. That means that on an annualized basis the incidence of Bells Palsy among those who received the vaccine is higher than the general population. Correlation does not mean a causal relationship, but on the surface it looks like the vaccine increases your chances of developing Bells.

On a side note I’ve had Bells twice. No discernible cause either time. It sucks. Definitely makes me think twice about the vaccine.

Why would anyone without the risk factors get the vaccination, Bell's Palsey issues or not?
