Yup. I get the flu vaccine every year. I also stay up-to-date on my tetanus booster. And back in August, got a boost on my MMR. The only noticeable side effect has been this gargantuan second penis.

Phase I trials are in very small populations and while they monitor for side effects (obviously), they're largely geared toward efficacy and getting the dosing and administration right. Phase III is where you get to numbers that give you a statistically significant sample.

But the point stands that those injected 9 months ago still have antibodies.

I don't know the data on that, unless you're saying that you do and it's been confirmed that those Phase I and II patients do still have them.

This is funny to keep up with.

Some of the people who complain about fear mongering over the virus(which I agree, there is excessive fear-mongering over it). Will proceed to fear monger over the vaccine.

I'm familiar with three people who were participants. All three had antibodies checked shortly after injection and had them, indicating they were not in a placebo group (though they were not told this at that time). All three have confirmed that they still have them in the last month.

So why again should I take a vaccine for a disease that wouldn’t likely affect me and risk getting Bell’s palsy at all?

This was a pretty common viewpoint within the military community for the Anthrax vaccine back in the 90’s... Protect yourself from unlikely exposure and death at the expense of exposing yourself to unknown side effects. The debate was ultimately resolved for us by mandated inoculation.

I'm not the greatest guy at math, but from your own quote, it looks like you have a .01% chance of receiving bells palsy from the vaccine. Technically speaking, You have a greater chance, or at least equal chance of dying from the virus, than to receive bells palsy from the vaccine.

Do with that information as you will.

Except that’s not exactly working. They are finding out that after you get it that immunity is only lasting about 90 days. Except that people jabbed with Moderna's vaccine on March 16th have antibodies to this date.

If you do the math it actually seems to reduce the risk

there was no evidence that the vaccine caused the Bells Palsy
What’s the evidence for the long term effects from the vaccine? It’s not like the virus has even been around for a year here and the vaccine isn’t rushed.

Four people getting Bell's Palsy isn't a significant adverse reaction. People given the placebo also developed it. It's well within the normal rate. More concerning is that people with a history of allergies had adverse reactions to the vaccine.

Thanks! There is a lot of hysteria out there. But this is an answer to a question I had when I read the title of the post.

1 in 10000 incidence rate of a symptom that isn't life threatening and is transient.

Don't get the vaccine then Chicken Little. The only corner that was cut in the clinical trials of the vaccine was the federal government's willingness to purchase the entire order right off the bat with no guarantee it would work. These vaccines have already been deployed for a while, everyone has just been waiting on the rubber stamps from the FDA.

But I'm sure you knew all of that already...
