How good are they. Don't know anything about them, never owned a set. Been looking for new tires for my Silverado. Looking at a set of 275/55/20 Perelli scorpion tires.

They didn’t ride very well for me.
I think unless you are talking about putting them on a sports car I’d stay away.

Michelin Defender LTX MS/2 is supposed to be a really good all season tire.

I wanted to go back to the original tires goodyear eagle LS-2. but there seems to be some miss information somewhere. Sam's club tells me these tired don't have a tread wear warranty. My local tire shop says these same tires have a 50,000 mile warranty on them.

Got about 20k out of the set that came on my F150. Rotated regularly.

Tires are not all good or all bad based on brand.
It depends on driving conditions, driver preference, and different models of tires.
Go to tirerack.com and read reviews of tires. You can put your preferred size of tire to filter it.

Look at Hankook Dynapro’s. Same size you’re looking for came on my F150 and I’ve currently got 57k miles on them, from the looks I may get another 10k. I’m on the road a lot with my job and that’s mostly highway miles though so not sure how much difference that makes.
That said, I don’t remember ever getting more than about 50k out of any other set (different brands).

Check out the toyo HTs.
They are probably the best made tire on the planet from a sheer technical standpoint.

Pirelli’s are known more as a high performance tire. If you were installing these on a sports car or sports sedan I would recommend them. But for a truck or SUV you can’t go wrong with the Michelin LTX.
The Pirelli’s tread life won’t be as good as Michelin and your ride quality will suffer.
Tire Rack has some good video reviews if you want to compare different brands.

Just put second set of Scorpions on my wife's QX60. Got a good 50k miles out if them and they are good tires. Quiet and smooth.
Took about 2 weeks before my garage stopped smelling like new tires.

their performance tires for sports cars are their best tires.

Pirelli are generally known for their performance tires, soft and sticky with tire life compromised for performance. I don't think your Silverado is going to regularly be pulling 1g on the skidpad.
Maybe skip the Pirellis.

Y'all do realize Pirelli makes all sorts of tires, right?

I do. I also realize that Pirelli as a company isn't quite the same as a giant like Goodyear or a Michelin. I trust them keep my car stuck to the road when I'm putting 500 hp down and taking tight turns, but I also think there are better options for a truck tire made by people who understand truck tires more than they understand performance car tires.

Great tires, only drawbacks are tread life and price. My father ran them on all his Italians and mom's Jaguars.

Last all-season-style tires I bought were Cooper Discoverer H/Ts for a 2011 BMW X5. They were the only name brand tires the shop had in my size, and I was pleasantly surprised. Good all-weather performance including in snow plus a very quiet and comfortable ride. Surprisingly good in softroading situations too, and they hardly showed any wear after 15k miles. Give them a look if you’ve got a small/midsize SUV

Had P Zeroes. Got about 25k out of them. They might've lasted a little longer but I couldn't rotate them because my rear wheels were staggered
