I would avoid.
Historically not a very good tire.

I think people are a little confused because they see pirelli signs at races. My parents Dodge Caravan came with pirellis from the dealership and they rode really nice for an all season tire. I only remember having to help my mom change a flat once and they always got the same tires and that van had well over 300k miles on it when all said and done.

I have good year wranglers on it now. I have been disappointed in the ride but they have held up. I have over 50,000 on them now and they could go awhile longer but the ride is starting to get rough.

About 2 years ago I bought a new set of whatever the high-end performance tires Continental sells and have had zero issues.

I sell tires. I sell A LOT of tires. Scorpion ATR’s are a good choice for a 2wd pickup. There are other choices that are good as well. There are so many factors that go into separating different tires. The vast majority of people couldn’t tell the difference between most tires. Tread wear rating/warranty is a red herring, it “might” give you some insight into the tire compound. Find what you like the looks of and buy them if it’s a quality brand tire.

What would you recommend for a daily driver? I do about 90 miles a day during the week, mostly interstate. I take it you are saying that tires with a high tread wear rating / warranty is a better quality tire compound?

Y'all do realize Pirelli makes all sorts of tires, right?
I have Michelin Pilot SuperSports on my sports car and, while they're damn good tires for handling and such, they don't last. At $250-300/tire, that pisses me off.
We use Pirelli Scorpions on my wife's midsize SUV and the tread life has been great and but we don't really push them very hard, either.
Both great tires for the vehicles we're using them on but certainly not using them for what either manufacturer is "known for".

Wife’s AWD Volvo SUV came with scorpions.

Michelin has been known for quite a while for being the best tires for sports/super cars.

I don’t understand putting street tires on any truck unless it’s specifically a street/performance truck. A good all terrain is always gonna be the best choice especially for a 2wd.

The scorpions are an okay road tire. And they’re cheap.

Try all season verde plus Perelli’s. 60,000 mile tread warranty. Hankook is also good. Tougher ride but good tread life.

Perelli Scorpoin ATRs on my F150 and 60k miles is the least I’ve gotten on a set. Put 75k on my last set.

I had a set of Pirelli’s that came on my 11 F150 that were trash. They cupped really bad and rode like shite pretty quick. I honestly like the Cooper Discoverer AT3 for SUVs and pickups. I've had several sets between my old Range Rover, F150, 2500 and my new F150. They ride nice but usually need several weights to get balanced right.
Michelin LTX are great pickup tires and made very well with tight tolerances. A buddy of mine works as a Ford tech and says that they barely have to put weights on Michelin tires when they install them. You just pay for them.

They would be just fine. Look at treadwear rating like this, if I am going to “warranty” the tread of a tire to last 50k, it’s gonna be a pretty hard tire. Hard tires last, hard tires don’t have as good all weather traction as a softer tire. Three things contribute to almost all tire wear. Stopping, take off and alignment. A lot of people bitch about tire wear but panic stop and take off like they are drag racing every time.

I only put coopers on our vehicles. Excellent tires at an excellent price point
