Yeah, that child support and spousal support is paying for those homes. Headline Should be divorced men paying for single ex wives homes

Divorce and getting half the man’s pay each month due to alimony and/or child support can be very helpful.

Lots of misconceptions here that are part of why your average male is falling behind.

Women aren’t getting houses in divorces; if they are, the men are foolishly giving them up, or have really bad lawyers.

This highlights the concerning trend we’ve since the women’s workplace liberation movement 50 years ago. When women have access to the same (or nearly the same) money as men, they make better investments. Women are more likely to see the benefit to investing in a house on the front-end.

Men are more likely to throw money away renting.

That, and, the soy movement of young males is definitely on the rise. Why would a single young male want a house when mom is cutting the crust off his little sammiges and baking cookies for him while he sleeps till noon and wakes anxiously waiting on the newest map to come out on whatever new game there is.

It's all in the title. The fact that the data is from lending tree means there is zero ownership. More women might be in debt to a home, but the only owners are the banks, for a long time.

I saw a list of the world's richest women just recently.

Over half of them attained their wealth via divorce....

And on top of the notorious gender pay gap!

82% - that crutch is becoming smaller and smaller.

And when the U.S. government first started tracking pay by gender in 1979, the average working woman made 62% of what men in similar jobs earned.

Well it is sort of creepy for a single boomer to buy a house in a neighborhood vs an older widow. All the widowed men and single men probably just get an apartment.

By every metric, women are doing better in this country than men. Yet they still cry oppression.

You'd be surprised the amount of stuff boobs pay for.

For a small $4000 investment in a pair of top shelf boobs, and you too can have a house.
Seriously, women want security. A house provides that. Men want to get laid. The money they spend chasing the split tail probably could be used more wisely with the purchase of a house. Once the house is purchased, the split-tail will come to them.

Curious to know at what degree are young women provided help to purchase by parents?

In my experiences it’s more likely that parents would help purchase a home for their daughter more than a son.

Most of my experience was parents being mega hard on their sons and very easy on the daughters. Never mind that our institutions were already treating boys/males as an evil entity and propping up female behavioral norms as the good. (Sitting in public schools quietly and in a line, no talking, very little physical activity).
