In my experiences it’s more likely that parents would help purchase a home for their daughter more than a son.
I have never ever heard of parents buying a home for their single daughter

Some of this stems from divorce, but men are more willing to live wherever if it saves money.

A lot of women outlive their husbands and then sell and downsize their homes.
A lot of men will put a home soley in their wife's name in an effort to prevent hospitals from taking the home away from their wife in the event the husband suffers through a long drawn out battle in the end.
