There was a post on one of the local facebook groups about this recently. Some lady had gotten a ticket because she'd used her mom's car with tag and a town cop gave her a ticket since the handicap tag wasn't in her name and her mom wasn't with her. She was flipping sh*t

I park in them on the reg when the other spots are limited. They're not going to ticket you or tow you.
I park as far away from the door as possible to avoid “zombie walkers” coming out of a grocery and walking behind me when pulling out of the lot but those “curbside” spots have pushed more cars deeper into the parking lot.

We have a handicap tag, I’m not handicapped but my husband is. I do the driving, when he is a passenger with me I have no problem parking in a handicap spot even if he stays in the car, in case he needs to get out. If I’m alone I don’t park in handicapped spots. Is this wrong?

Have an upvote and frick those trying to make excuses for lazy-asses. A lot of the time I see people coming out of someplace like WalMart and getting into a vehicle parked in a handicapped spot, they aren't struggling at all. They can walk in the store, walk the frick around it for 30-minutes to an hour then walk back out with no issues but they somehow deserve to be using up a spot meant for those who can't do that?
Hell, I've even seen that sort of bullshite at the gym. Anyone who runs on a treadmill for 20 minutes doesn't need to be in a handicapped spot.

It's not uncommon for someone's spouse to have a tag, and still use it when the spouse isn't in the vehicle.
My grandmother (80s-ish) refused to use the placard the doctor gave her. After having both hips replaced (one twice) and I think one knee.

I notice this a lot out here in California. Its seems like the usual "suspects" that have the placards and they are driving a really expensive car. I guess they just know how to work the system.
I live in a nice subdivision and there was a house down the street that was section 8 and there were always two cars in the driveway. Both cars were $100K each and both had handicap stickers. Once a month they would have a garage sale and sell all these designer clothes. It really irritates me how these people work the system.

Pops had Parkinson’s and in the early to middle stages of it he looked fine but could tell if an episode was coming on. He parked in handicap spots knowing he may need to get out of there quick.

I was eating lunch close to Christmas one year and watched a New Iberia Sherriff, drive across the parking lot putting tickets on all of the illegally parked vehicles in the handicapped spots, you should have seen the trash come running out of the stores. Sherriff just kept on writing, was a feel good moment for me.

Democrats are terrible about this. They think it is private parking for them. Seen them park in those spots at the gym then hop out in workout clothes carrying a bag.
Would be great if it was legal to knee cap people like that so they "earned" their handicap spot. But hey.... I'm a dreamer.

How do we know it’s legit?
How do you know they’re not?
You’re making assumptions based on your own (likely flawed) perception and getting worked up over them. They had tags. Move on with your life dude.

I always park in these "curbside Orders" spaces. These spots are usually prime and usually empty.

The Walmart ones are nice in the rain with the covered parking.

I always thought anyone using those spots had to have a wheelchair or at least a crutch. That's not the case these days and 20 something "kids" are known to have Grannie's tag hanging on the windshield and are not afraid to use them. With an aging population, it we're beginning to see most of those spots being filled up at grocery stores.
What is just as egregious to me, is people parking in the fire lanes when a parking spot is less than 50 feet away.
And while I'm at it, (go ahead and DV me) why are there reserved spot for "Our Law Enforcement Personnel?" Why not my accountant or car detailer?
