You're right, traveling is not a hobby. It's simply an activity done regularly in one's leisure time for pleasure...

I would say it is more of a pursuit outside one's regular occupation engaged in especially for relaxation

I almost bit... then I thought nah, no one really believe that.

Sad part though is some people do.

Oh that's no troll baw. Me and the wifepiece are going to be dining on some of the finest French cuisine at Monsuer Paul's this Saturday night. Thinking about swinging by Germany and picking up an authentic German cookoo clock while I'm there. Only gonna cost me a couple hundred bucks for both of us to fly there on Allegiant too. Have fun wasting your money on international flights while I get the same experience for a fraction of the cost suckers.

I admire what you're trying to do, but you're making it too obvious.

Subtlety is your friend when throwing out a hook.

Actually every part of that post is true. I really am doing that this weekend

Except for the cookie clock part. I picked one of those up when I went last year.

They have money and want to be entertained.

My cousin was co-founder of a silicon valley company. Actually three times. He's not deep. He could be meditating. He's nice though.

I travel enough to make it a hobby

not working, not doing house chores

Aren't you usually not doing this during a hobby?

Traveling” doesn’t make you more cultured, worldly, or interesting.

Traveling can definitely help you become more cultured and worldly. If exposes you to different people, customs, and trains of thought. You should really get out of the bubble of the south and experience more

When I travel I tend to do a lot of things people would consider a hobby. Ride bikes, walk for miles, visit parks and gardens....

yea...because the food at a Chinese buffet is the same as in Bejing..just like the food at Italian restaurants is the same as in Rome. And surely there is no difference in going to a place that understands English and ordering ethic food for an hour, and spending a few weeks in a place where you have to learn their language, customs and habits.

I can tell how cultured and worldly you are from your posts
