Are we still trolling the OP?
OP: I routinely put my SUV in neutral, get out, and push it into the spot by hand...so as to have greater control and decreased turning radiius. It takes a little longer, but it feels worth it when I get that perfect park that makes people brush against my truck nuts as they walk between cars

Company regulation for at the time Southern Bell vehicles. Much safer

I normally do it if I'm driving the wife's car and have to park in between trucks/SUVs.. It sucks something fierce trying to back up out of a spot blind. I figure this way, at least my head won't be turned when/if someone does hit me (considering most jackasses keep flying and don't wait for a car with reverse lights showing).

I backed into two different spots within the past two hours

Hope your car gets tagged trying to "back" out of parking spot. You should always back into your parking spot dipshit.

because people walk behind you.
because people will run into you.
If you can see as you come out, you avoid all that.

Backing in does not typically bother me but I work in a building with a parking garage where the spots are slanted and every aisle is one way. There are some people who will still back into these slanted spots who are going to have to turn much more than 90 degrees to get out of the spot and go in the right direction. I think these people may be retarded.

I worked for BellSouth when I graduated college. All the outside guys backed into parking places. They were required to for safety reasons. After a while, even the office folks did it. I still do it to this day were its convenient.

I have always did this for multiple reasons. You never know if someone will come get really close to you while you're in the store. Also, if your car doesn't start, you can get jumped off easier.

Back into parking spots 99% of the time, the other 1% I pull through an empty spot into the spot in front.

Sorry that all you idiots that back into a parking spot are too poor to have a camera for backing up.
Get a fricking job!
Nothing else to see here...get back to you pathetic lives....

My Audi has a camera. Its the inattentive idiots speeding and looking for parking spots that I worry about.

What? My backup camera on my truck makes it extremely easy to back into a spot. The backup camera won't stop you from getting hit by someone speeding through the parking lot as you back out.
Furthermore, if you are severely inconvenienced by the 3 seconds extra you have to wait for me to back up, sorry for partying. Come talk to me about it. I'll happily laugh in your face.

a. around here we refer to it as "blacking it in" because it is typically blacks that back into parking spots.
b. to defend some of them, it is easier to cut a longer truck by backing in rather than trying to pull in since you can whip the front around easier than getting the rear end around.
