You mean the age group that invented, and developed the personal computer, networki and communications systems that make all of this "modern technology" possible. I am 64, and started using Email on the job when I was 23.

My uncle lives out in the boonies with no internet, TV, or computer. He seems pretty happy. He does have a cell phone, and will text a little but sometimes it takes him a few days to respond.

I really resisted getting a smart phone for the longest time. I was so good about not having my phone consume so much of my time like so many I know. When I eventually broke down, I became exactly what I feared. These things are just so convenient.

I think technology is advancing too fast for its own good.
We see iPhones starting to go to shite because of updates. My Samsung laptop is fine for what I need it for. Windows 10 insists on updates, and each one seems to frick up the way the computer runs.
I recently wanted to replace my directv remotes. I had the original receiver for 6 years and it worked great. Directv said I was up for a free equipment upgrade. Ever since they did that, it has been a shite show. My receivers would randomly reset, the feed would freeze up, and the recording lights didn’t work. The menus run slowly.
Bottom line: some of these advances are unnecessary for many people’s lives. I’d rather try to push myself farther away from the ‘screen’ and enjoy the outdoors more.

I agree with this.
I am over it now..
But I texted someone to ask about something, they sent me the info in a text and all I had to do was simply text that information to this person, but they refuse to text. It's not that calling them was a big deal, it's just the idea that by me texting it to them, if they forget, it's in a text. I know different people prefer to communicate in different ways and if it is someone older I have no problem. I communicate with them however they communicate, but this person is just someone difficult.

This is one reason why I only text certain people.
I don’t want to hear them rambling about all their drama and bullshite
If I have a question and only need a short answer I’ll text.
If I have to discuss or explain or need an explanation I always prefer a phone call.
