I'd tell him I dont call. I'll text so he has it "written down". F that shite.
But I hate talking on the phone though. Ha. I had ex of 3+ yrs get curious at how many times we talked on the phone, and in like a 2 year period it was less than 1.5 hrs all combined. But God only knows how many thousands of texts.
I actually have more tech to try to figure out how NOT to be so teched out. Ha.
And I will NEVER willingly do Alexa, and the like. Also, I'm looking at a "new" older veh to stop with all the tech in cars today. it's getting crazy, and govts over in europe are proving/showing where things are going.

Where have you been? I see it all the time with people glued to their phones texting endlessly when they could be doing more constructive things in life.
The ones that kill me are the fans at sports arenas who pay good $$$$ to have that seat and their heads are glued to this little screen in their hand instead of taking in the game.

I'm still working on my program and punch cards for my full response to this. Please be patient.

If it was up to me, I would live in a cabin in the middle of nowhere without electricity and live off the land as much as I could.

If there were a choice, I would rather not use modern technology, esp to communicate. Life was so much better before the age of modern technology, simpler too.

I have baby boomer aged colleagues who still dictate onto cassettes and then have secretaries do the typing. Not only is the process comically inefficient, the final result does not even read well, and makes smart people who are good writers seem less so.

I agree with the OP. I do not wish to receive any calls when the information can be texted. I have a busy life and don’t have time to spend talking on the phone. Texting allows me to multitask.

Meh, it's way simpler now if you have lots of family and friends that you like to communicate with.
Take this situation for example. I take a nice picture of my kid on my phone. Within a few minutes I can text it to 10 people who I know would love to see the picture.
Would you prefer the olden days where you would have to take in film to get developed, write letters, and mail the pictures to 10 separate people?

You see this a lot in the 55-75 crowd. Any older and they were probably retired before technology really took off, but this age group has some of the most irritating pieces of shite. I can't tell you how many times these assholes get all pissy because we want to email them something as if email is some crazy new invention.
Exactly, stuff like this is why people hate Boomers

Many years ago I started working at a large tech company, the 3 co-workers I shared a cubicle with would Email me from 3 ft away that they were leaving to go to lunch, the restroom, or whatever. I discovered it was common practice there, and started looking for a new job.
Sounds like they were documenting their breaks in case upper management decided to get pissy about how much people actually work. A case of CYA, if you will.

I work in Sales and I like texting because there is a history of the conversation. My customers constantly text me orders all day - which I love. If they are calling me, it means we got a problem.
