2 is easy. 3 and 4, not so much. And all i have is boys, and to from my friends who had girls, then had boys, i'm told boys are more difficult early on.

Either way my kids aren’t just zombies with phones in their faces every time we go somewhere.

It's not a zero sum game. It's possible to allow your kids screen time, and also restrict them from screen time.

That has absolutely nothing to do with giving a 3 year old a TV show for 45m

Get over yourself

May I offer you a screaming 2 year old next to your table in exchange for a quiet 2 year old watching Mickey Mouse's Mixed Up Adventures?

Maybe teach your kid not to be a screaming 2 year old without watching the cell phone cranked up to max volume.

Typically I choose restaurants that price out the low rent trash like you and don't eat at Applebees and Red Lobster.

I have two girls so maybe that’s a small part. They get screen time at home, just not when we’re out.

You and lnchbox keep fighting the good fight in this thread. It’s Miller time.

But will I have to talk to my kids to tell them to sniff glue?

Maybe I’ll get them phones and they can watch a video …

We never once gave our kids an electronic device to pacify them in public.

I don't recall exactly, but were there a lot of smartphones in the early 2000's? Where there children's apps on those phones? Any my 7 year old is one of, if not the most advanced reader in his class, and his little brother is on the same pace.

People need to spend time interacting with their kids instead of sticking a screen in front of them.

We can't do both? There is this asinine assumption that if you give your kids a cellphone to occupy them at a restaurant that a) you're a shite parent b) you're kid is half retarded and c) you live in a trailer park. Is this the grand intelligent leap you people are making?

Absolutely not, basic hand signals should get the job done

Just for that, you're not invited back to the trailer park for moonlight caviar.

First of all, I said nothing about the volume. Secondly, you have obviously never been the father of a 2 year old because no 2 year old is spending more than 15 minutes in any restaurant without losing its shite.

That being key. Don't really care what you do or your kids do if they aren't bothering anyone. Kids will misbehave and most parents will correct the kids and all is fine.
