If you have a stepfather (or stepmom), how do you celebrate Father's Day with them?

I don't even call mine to wish him a "happy father's day", but we never had the best relationship.

It depends on what kind of relationship you have with them obviously

depends on the relationship. Halkmark makes GREAT cards for step-moms/step-dads if you have a mom/dad like relationship with them.

My mom died when I was in high school and the woman my dad remarried has been a great mom-figure for me. She doesn't pretend to be my mother, and I don't pretend to be her son, but we treat each other as if that was the relationship. I usually get her one of the nicer step-mom cards.

My family was not trash so there's no divorces.

It was awkward with my step dad. We got along fine but he was not my dad either. I do miss him sometimes, now that he has died.

He slams the door, he stomps his feet
Sends me to bed with zilch to eat

But my stepdad's not mean
He's just adjusting

His temper's bad and he's a slob
He's bitter cause he lost his job

But my stepdad's not mean
He's just adjusting

So three cheers for the man
That I proudly call Stan
He's not quite a dad or a brother
Yes, he gets cross
But still, he's the boss
And besides he takes care of my mother

Be patient with new friends like Stan
It's tough to be Mom's second man

But your stepdad's not mean
He's just adjusting

So remember, kids, a stepdad
is a lot like a new puppy.
They need patience while they adjust to their surroundings. But remember, if he's ever abusive to you or Mommy, what are the magic numbers?

9! 1! 1!
That's right!

My father in law is technically my step father in law. (my wife's dad died when she was pretty young). We treat him just like a dad/father in law including on father's day.

I call and tell him Happy Father's Day. He's the only father I've ever known.

Thank god my parents stayed together.

Getting a new dad or mom sounds turribull.

I get that things happen but there are certainly folks with kids who divorced for illegitimate reasons.

Even two Christmases and birthdays wouldn't make up for the dislocation and weirdness.
