All I know is that the biggest Christian talkers / church goers / outright religious people I have ever known CONSISTENTLY turned out to be scum bags. I don’t need bible quotes on my body or my bumper stickers. I don’t need my email Sig to preach to others. My faith is between me and God. I don’t much care what anyone else has to say about it.

The loud talkers always seem, to me, to be trying to convince others and themselves

Not a new trend. Also, the OT hates all tattoos so of course tacky.

And those weren't tattoos as we know them today. Other translations note it as "cuts" as the pagan priests were known to do for their gods.

That’s fine to get into Heaven or Hell, but to say if it’s trashy or not, anyone can judge that they are. And they are.

If someone feels so passionately about something or someone they want to get stabbed over and over with a needle to make sure everyone else knows and/or they never forget (or if they are just a try-hard wanting to do it to fit in with the latest fad), that's a decision for them to make.

For me? No thanks.

Make of it what you will.

It’s Old Covenant for sure but it’s not a ritual observance or dietary restriction that Jesus and his Apostles saw as no longer valid.
quote:

And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
Mark 7: 17-23 and “Everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving”. 1 Tim. 4:4

In any event, many Christians have had ink laid down for various reasons, many before their conversions. Post conversion their old person is forgiven, they are cleansed, and the former person is dead and buried with Christ in baptism and raised to a new life joining Christ in his resurrection so tats are small potatoes in the larger context.

I’ve known converts who have, perhaps with misguided joy and exuberance, gotten specifically Christian symbols to identify themselves with their new faith in Jesus. Certainly done in ignorance of whether it’s wrong or not. It’s hard to imagine Jesus condemning such a person he bled and died to save. Maybe a palm face Jesus reaction from the King of Kings but probably little more.

Jewish parents like telling their kids they can't be buried in a Jewish cemetery if they get a tattoo. Pretty effective.

Also should note that a lot of jewish men do not shave with a razor for risk of cutting themselves. Hence the beards and electric razors.

When people ask me to give them a scripture for a tattoo, Leviticus 19:28 is what I always tell them. I do suggest they read it first to see if they like it, though.

“But people can spend their money how the see fit”

Then they get on social media and bitch that life isn’t affordable and blame boomers for their financial woes.
I see young couples at WalMart with tattoos and small children,I know they have better things to spend their money on.
Most extreme case I ever saw was a young couple last week. Both had full sleeves on both arms and both legs from knees down.Don’t really know but I would guess $20-$25,000.
They were well done but they’ll look Ike shite in 20 years.
