quote:

LSU Pennington Biomedical Research Center is conducting a vaccination trial to determine the safety and effectiveness of the Moderna vaccine in children. The trial includes 4000 children across the country, with 35 coming from the Capital Area. Dr. Daniel Hsia said most of the kids received their first dose in August, and their second dose this September.

quote:

Ginger Brininstool signed her 9-year-old daughter, Megan Pollock, up to take part in the trial. She said after seeing the effect of the delta variant on children, she didn’t think twice. “When she had the opportunity this summer, it was just an easy choice. There was no hesitation,” said Brininstool.

quote:

The trial is a year-long process, but one this family is ready for.

quote:

Dr. Hsia said the first part of this trial only included kids between the ages of 6 to 11. They will begin the second part to include those between the ages of 6 and 6-months in October.

These people are fricking sick. You wanna jab yourself? Go for it, but don’t make your small child be a Guinea pig.

Dr. Brininstool was my micro biology professor while at LSU. Im assuming she's still there but this isn't very surprising.

What's the big deal? I put a fake mustache on my six year old and took her to get the vax back in May. Better safe than sorry IMO.

How else do you expect a vaccine to get tested? You should be glad these zealots are willing to sign their offspring up.

I honestly believe they will all be fine down the road but really don’t understand the weighted risks for something like this, especially if you have a healthy child.

I’d imagine a lot of these parents are more concerned about how to word their Facebook posts celebrating their kids getting vaccinated more than the potential unknowns.

Why are the vaccinated so obsessed with little kids?

Idk, I'm willing to bet this will lead to really important studies and approval for kids who need it. Like kids with autoimmune disorders. I probably wouldn't sign my kid up for trials, but I understand how it can lead to a greater good.

I'm all for the right to choose to get the vaccine or not but you act like this is the first and only time there have been trials for drugs/vaccines on children...its kind of part of the process.

This is a voluntary study to assess short term, and hopefully long term, impacts of this vaccine on young individuals. As long as this vaccine is voluntary, why would anyone have an issue with it.

All of that said, frick ALL THESE MANDATES!

This is a great idea - get your kid jabbed, use their vaccine card to get into the LSU games and to restaurants in Nola.

I got the vaccine but no way in hell are my children getting it until millions and millions of other kids have had it for years with little to no side affects.
