Since they are both lawyers I'd guess they have an idea how the law works in their neighborhood and where their property lines are. Especially with the excitement in St. Louis of late.
It's been a private street since the 1800's so I wouldn't be surprised that they own the street. And definitely own the sidewalk.
eta-The "street" in that neighborhood isn't even on streetview. I'd say it's very private.

And there's nothing in the video to suggest they were in imminent threat of deadly harm.

Nope, nope, and nope.
It's a private gated community- not the local park.
This kind of "IN THEIR FACE" harassment is never going to be universally accepted like it is in the media.
These people pay a lot of money for their privacy. It's their pursuit of happiness- and I don't blame them one bit for wanting to defend it. Leave them alone.

I love how filth on the left play this game.
Their ilk are out violently attacking innocent people all over the country in their cars, in front of their businesses, or in the street. They are literally burning cities to the ground while killing innocent people.
So we send these thugs into private areas now, and then mock the citizens of said area for being concerned for their safety, you know, because of the violence that's being glorified by the media.
People like you and Lester are the reason we can never progress as a society. Literally the scum of the earth, but hey, "own the cons" at all costs.
It's called gas lighting, and it is on plain display for all to see here.
Anyone can see that the fact these two reacted with a show of force is a direct result of the violence erupting all across the country. Meanwhile, the left wants to feign outrage and act surprised

Depends on how the community property is set up. Many private developments, your property extends to the center line of the street. That way all property is owned by individuals, but maintenance is shared by the community. Others, the streets have a private right-of-way that is owned by the HOA, of which they would be members. Either way, the street/sidewalk in front of their house is owned by them either in whole or in an undivided interest. The protesters were trespassing. Private communities do not necessarily have paid private security.

What part of "private property" are you having trouble with?
You do understand this includes streets and sidewalks in private neighborhoods such as this right?

What would you prefer they do? Cower in fear in their own homes and pray that a police force that has lost all of its teeth do something?

In many states it's a felony to brandish a firearm to intimidate someone from coming on your property. I have no clue if that is the case in Missouri.
Missouri is a castle doctrine state. I doubt you would get very far trying to charge these two on something like that. They weren't driving down the street randomly flashing their weapons to intimidate people. They were in their front yard.

Well, he didn't shoot them so your argument isn't really valid.
An angry mob entering private property gives them a pretty good assumption they're not there to sell Girl Scout cookies.

Thanks! And that makes sense. I was just texting with a lawyer friend about it, and he has dealt with these issues before. He said there is a lot of case law that actually makes it very hard to fully deem roads in neighborhoods as fully private, but had to go to a meeting before going into more detail.

You don't have to support what they do for a living to support their actions of protecting their own private property, you dunce

Hundred people suddenly show up on your private property and you wouldn't consider them a potential threat?

And I'm familiar with the Castle Doctrine, but as I understand it only applies if the persons come onto your property, which is why I was wondering if there's any evidence the protesters came onto HIS property. In private, gated communities, does the castle doctrine extend to the private community's property? I would think not. All of those communities usually have their own private security to "police" the common areas.
Yes

When he gets back to you ask him about private property & no trespassing signage along with a closed gate

Pretty evident it's private

Sure, that conversation really happened.
Keep ignoring the gated photo with signage that’s been displayed in this thread multiple times.
First degree trespass by those “protesters” and the homeowners are within their right to stand in their yard with firearms.
You don’t have to text your fictional lawyer friend to find that out, unless his name is Google.
Contrarian gonna contrarian though.

Could you imagine what kind of precedent would be set if the cops arrest and charge those two people? The storming of private neighborhoods would be off the charts.
