So, ole FCP is working up in Shreveport for a couple weeks. Unfortunately, JBE is the governor up here, too. But, since I’m living in a hotel for the trip, I decided to try out some of the places offering “patio” dining. It has been an unmitigated disaster.

Both places actually require you to call in your order once you arrive. Then, once the order is ready, they walk it halfway to the patio and you have to go “pick it up” from them. If they forgot silverware, drinks, etc., you can’t just walk up to a server (of which there are plenty) and ask for it. Instead, you have to call the restaurant again, and they’ll bring it to you—or at least close to you, but you still have to physically get up and take it from them. Refills on drinks require the same dance.

But, what’s weird is that they can bring the receipt to the table, and last night they came to the table to check IDs for several of our group who ordered beer.

TLDR: JBE has made the simple act of eating out a Byzantine maze of rules and procedures that make absolutely no sense.

NB4 CSB and Dear Facebook.

I thought it was pretty clear that there was not going to be table service

Sounds like you are dealing with some stupid restaurants who don't use common sense.
I haven't experienced this.

I think I'd rather just do takeout than follow all of these rules.

It’s all a complete farce. It’s should be 100% open and allow people to make their own damn decisions

It's nice not living in a state that's run by retards. Or at least run by semi-retards.

Ate lunch yesterday with some coworkers at a restaurant next door. We all sat at one table, all the tables next to us had people. Servers came out, handed out menus, took orders like normal. Only restrictions were we couldn't sit inside and the servers had masks on, which they took off or pulled down when they went inside.

Yeah. They’d be getting no tip from me in that scenario.

Shreveport is a shitshow right now as far as wait times for these things. Everywhere I have called in to pick up from the past couple weeks has taken 20-30 extra minutes after I get there. I always call ahead too.

People who want more government need to realize what that looks like.

Our government managed to screw up something as simple as a gas can.

It should come as no surprise they can screw up restaurants also.

Sounds like the restaurants need to get a bunch of walkie-talkies for the tables to communicate with the servers.

"Yes, I'd like a cheesburger.scrrrr. Fires. scrrrr. And a Budweiser. scrrrr. Over!"

Will be moot soon, as restaurants can open up at 25% capacity.

In fairness, my wife and I have agreed to wait for the first wave of people to go out and about before we partake.

It was this way this past weekend on the Northshore. They cannot serve you until phase 1 starts on Friday.
