Bingo.

Most of the OT needs to turn in their man cards after the last few weeks.

BR channel 33 did a report with video and said they counted 300+ people. Tony Spell is a liar and a charlatan.

It’s one thing for this one person to make his stance.
The thing that blows my fricking mind is that there are 1300 people willing to attend church with all this going on.

This is extremely irritating. Our congregation, staff, and vestry would have loved to attend services; however, we aren't incredibly selfish, irresponsible, and crass.
This is 2020, "Tony"; there are plenty of alternative methods to hold your services. Does this buffoon not understand how the virus is easily spread amongst people? His selfish actions are a great risk and could further the shutdown orders.
I seriously hope this guy does a little time (90 days or so) and is forced to pay a hefty fine.

More people should be able to work.
Over 1300 people gathering for church is stupid right now.

Yeah frick them. The government is looking out for our well being just like they always do.
Most of the time in situations like this, the middle ground is the most logical
Is the media drumming this up to be more than it is? Yes
Is the government overreacting? Yes
Are the people on the completely opposite end being complete morons by saying it’s just the flu? Yes

I don't have a LEGAL problem with him doing it. But he's an idiot and doing it only so his dumb flock can make their donations.
There is no religious reason for it.

staying home and watching church service, or gathering with 2 or more in your home to pray and read the Bible IS church, not a building
Yeah, my church asked people to just watch their live stream well before any mandates were put in place. I never even thought anything of it and assumed everyone wouldn't have any issue with that request. Anyone trying to congregate is just doing so for the sake of doing so in my opinion. If you need to be at the church, seems like you are worshipping the gathering more than the message.

In a lot of ways, this pastor sounds exactly like the Gay Pride or Pussy Hat
folk. Attention whoring using religion as the excuse is just as lame.

Some people act like this is some kind of stand up for Christ thing, but all it really is is a really bad witness, especially since Christ Himself instructed His followers to submit to their governing authority, and staying home and watching church service, or gathering with 2 or more in your home to pray and read the Bible IS church, not a building.
They know that. They just don’t care.
How many times does a church cancel services due to icy road conditions? Or expected severe thunderstorms?
In fact, Baptist Press recently had an article where there have been numerous reports of churches closing due to one pandemic or another:

I understand his First Amendment concerns. But with rights come responsibilities. I suggest that if the public has to pay for any treatment caused by his actions, he and his church should have to reimburse us (they can then sue China for subrogation).

Idiots like this will just keep the government being over-aggressive since the population is apparently too stupid to just practice social distancing without being forced.
The dude is just looking for attention but if the government is being over aggressive thats a government issue, dont blame it on people not bending their knee for Big Daddy Government.

Good for him. I'm glad someone is willing to stand up to the politicians.
Also, all 1,345 in attendance are idiots.
