Like I said, I'm sorry you cant seperate the two.
what? it's not about separating the two, or anything like that.

the position that alot have taken on this board is that you comply with authorities no questions, is it not?

so again, people are being selectively compliant with said authorities.

Exactly. It’s not as if we need to be at the temple and the holy man enters to offer burnt offerings in submission to God and as a symbolism of the ultimate sacrifice to come. It’s already come, and the veil has been torn so we don’t need a building anymore to worship God, or Holy men to make intercessory prayer on our behalf.

I'm actually not even religious and it's mostly because of the way people are acting in this thread. I started going again several months back just to get my head straight and expose my son so that he can make his own life decisions when he's older. I feel overall message is a good thing for a person. I don't have enough faith in any particular religion though because of the shenanigans highlighted in this situation.

I thought we were talking about the flattening of the curve? Why are you changing the subject?

You said the more people comply, the sooner this ends.

The entire proposition behind "flattening the curve" is prolonging the event.

Yeah, my church asked people to just watch their live stream well before any mandates were put in place. I never even thought anything of it and assumed everyone wouldn't have any issue with that request. Anyone trying to congregate is just doing so for the sake of doing so in my opinion. If you need to be at the church, seems like you are worshipping the gathering more than the message.

Soo my parents church was supposed to have an online service yesterday. Turns out he choir was there, all sitting nest to one another. Then there were people who showed up to park in the parking lot and listen, so the pastor went out and invited them in. I don't know how many, but it was a nontrivial amount

Oh he's a complete attention whoring idiot, and his flock are a bunch of morons... although I'm glad to see that it was apparently closer to 300 morons instead of 1,300+.

You'll still come in contact. Flattening the curve doesn't necessarily protect you, it protects health care resources. It lowers the rate of transmission over time, which means less people have it at once, but it's spread over a longer period, so recovery takes a lot longer.

Anyone saying "OMG! Say inside so we can be done with this.quicker" is a blithering idiot.

It's been said hundreds of times on the OT.

The idiots here can’t give you a reason

Cops shoot a black dude = should have complied, no matter what. Because he’s a cop

Cops give citations to church goers = government is taking over. This is a media driven virus. It’s a HOAX

As a Republican and someone who is in line with mostly republican ideals, these people are embarrassing. They don’t realize they are the mirror image of extreme democrats.

Of course it is. I don't see anyone supporting his arrest (perhaps I missed it). He is not immune from criticism.

We can think that he should not be arrested, while ALSO thinking that he's an idiot.

A cop should never use deadly force unless his or other lives are in danger.

People also shouldnt be getting citations for going to church just like the dude in Philly shouldnt have gotten drug off of a bus for not wearing a mask.

So, he's announcing exactly when he's at church. I wonder who is watching his house for burglars while he's gone? Surely the local criminals are not going to let this prime opportunity pass.

Which is why I asked the follow up question of, "What do you think happens when they open everything back up?"
