I don't think people that listen to him are dumb by any means. I'm sure he comes off as really nice and uplifting at his church. And if that is what gets people to want to seek God, not horrible. I would just hope once they start seeking, they see some of the red flags in his sermons.
His whole prosperity gospel just rubs many other Christians the wrong way.

I met Steven at a youth camp around 15 yrs ago. It was easy to see that he would be successful in evangelism. He gave a talk on sex and teenagers. He was funny and very engaging while also speaking Biblical truths. Only spending a few hours around him he seemed like a good guy. Haven't heard any of his preaching recently though.

A college friend who went on to open his own church shared this article and said that the pastor "deserves every penny for the light of God he shines onto people"
I guess he didn't read that it was satire.

Well shite, should have checked the link. With mega churches popping up all over I'm sure some of the pastors are making millions.

So all those morons giving ten percent see where those dollars are going. What a bunch of clowns. So, it's satire. Where do they think Ostend's money comes from.

My boy is in his third year of theology school. He is probably going to go pro instead of return for the senior year.

Nope. Said by Paul.
Jesus did talk about money and camels and needles, though.

Furtick's church is surprisingly Southern Baptist. Probably the most non transparent southern baptist church ever in regards to finances.

I like the story on Babylon Bee under this one.

Seriously, I hope he uses $100,000,000.00 of that to set up resource outreach programs for the needy. That is God's $
